Nice idea/concept for the game! The atmosphere was spot on with the background sounds—definitely a bit creepy too. After a while, though, I noticed I could just keep walking to the right, and nothing else seemed to happen??
Those spiders were really annoying (in a good way)! Characters looked good also.
You checked the color palette and theme. A good jam entry overall—well done! Keep it up! 😊
Thank you so much! It has been a great experience taking part in this game jam, I had a lot of fun during the whole process.
Next time I’ll try to make a game that is a bit more user friendly xP
The path seen the same keep going left 5 time I can not tell I win or not. SF go with the game well.
Nice take on the theme, but i could indeed break it by just going left, But it gave a creepy vibe which is always fun in a jam game. Only think i could advice is that if you go left let the character spawn on the right side of the screen, for a while i was not sure if it actually did something or if the level just kept refreshing. Love the sounds (hate the spiders ;) )
I actually like the idea of spawning on the right a lot, thank you so much for checking it out (and sorry about the spiders x3)!
The Anomaly Hunt genre is so interesting and very few people are doing it compared to other kinds of horror games, but I think it's really going to blow up soon.
The sprite work is great, you managed to create a strong sense of dread and foreboding with these little characters, and I'm privileged to have gotten to see you making it. I love it! I'm proud of you!
I could have never done it without your support, thank you so much for always being there for me!
The idea alone is a good take on the jam! I was stunned to find that the game has some really nice replay value too! I beat the game once, but I felt it was a fluke so I played again to make sure I understood it- and I found most of the rooms you are probably going to go left. I don't know if this is lady luck on my side or not, but to test this out, I beat the game three times in a row just heading left without checking the rooms first. I feel most of this game's charm comes from all the neat little interactions with npcs, such as the little girl's hair changing or the girl running back then turning into a giant creature, or the giant spiders in the background, the screen flashing red- all these random events make for an experience I would have never found had I not played again, and again, and again. This is a solid entry! Spooky spooky skeletons/10
Yeah, the bulk of the rooms are completed by just going left since most are “wrong” paths, I forgot to increase the chance of getting the right path, so every room is as likely to appear. I know, it’s such silly thing that it’s funny.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the concept!
Cool stuff. I'm surprised how much a game like this could creep me out.
The use of prominent dark shading was extremely effective in creating a sense of dread. Having such innocent-looking characters stuck in this world makes for a stunning contrast.
I just wish it was longer.
Aw, thank you so much! I was not sure it would look creepy, so I’m glad you thought so!
I was too afraid of overscoping so I made it short compared to most anomaly games in terms of size of the stage and number of anomalies, but I’ll probably come back to this project at some point to make it bigger.
You're welcome! I can't believe this is your first game.
