How does your game fit the theme?
The theme of Until Heals fits "Two Points of View" by presenting two distinct levels that reflect Ophidia's dual reality:

1. The external world, a level that represents Ophidia's everyday life, where she interacts with the outside environment and tries to manage her condition.
2. The internal world, a level that dives into Ophidia's chaotic mind, filled with fears, voices, and the overwhelming struggle against her trauma and schizophrenia.

Each level offers a unique perspective on her experience, allowing players to see the stark contrast between her external life and internal battles. By navigating these two worlds, the game encourages players to understand and empathize with the complexities of living with mental health challenges.

I like the focus on mental health/story concept and the art is nice, though gameplay could use some work.

Like Goed, I could not get past the second ferret. It also would be more polished if you could deactivate player controls while the doctor is speaking (so the player's not jumping in the air every time they press space to advance the text) and hide the textbox after she is finished speaking. Another option for the platformer part is to add lives or a health bar so that we can bump into ferrets a couple times before autodying.

Anyway, I like the concept and think it has the potential to be a good educational story game.

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to respond and give feedback on the game. I’m sorry you couldn’t finish the whole game. The ending talks more about mental health and gives a twist to the whole plot. I hope you give it another chance soon. On the other hand, I’ll take note of everything you’ve told me. It’s my first game and I’ve made it alone, so it’s normal that it has some flaws that I’ll correct in the next jam I participate in. Thank you so much for that feedback, mate. ^^

The story and the focus on raising awareness about mental health were well done.

The theme was incorporated, as well as the color palette. The pixel art was good and the music and sfx ok.

However, I couldn’t get past the ferret—I kept jumping on top of it. That’s a bit frustrating. Also, seeing the same text every time after losing felt a bit long, even with the space bar to fast forward.

That said, the story was strong, and the game worked well otherwise. Overall, a solid jam entry—great work! 😊

Hello! First of all, thank you for leaving feedback and playing the game. During the tests I did with my classmates, they told me the snake should jump higher, so I increased the jump a bit, and that’s what I went with. I probably still fell short. It’s a shame you couldn’t see the ending because it’s pretty cool. I hope that when you have time, you can replay it, because the ending is really awesome. ^^

I will certainly try again to try to see the ending. Maybe for the ones that do not make it, a little spoiler somewhere on the page so people do know how it ends.. Or after the jam.

Nice art and the idea seems very good.  However *and maybe i am missing something" i can not finish it as i can not jump over the ferret and get caught every time. Probably skill issues in my side. But the art is cute and idea is intresting

Hi! First of all i want to thank u for playing and feedback the game! if u talk about being caught by the mongooze in the first level or the second, except the last 2 levels, maybe can be the skills issues, but if u are in the last 2 levels u only have to read the story, the text and the history in the last 2 levels change according to the history :) i dont tell u more because i dont want to spoiler. :))

I figured it out, it was not skill issue but the (sorry :) ) mongoose was mostly over the platform i had to jump on and i had not seen that as for me only a small corner was visible. So i was just blind not unskilled :D (at least i can tell myself that)

Hey the character designs are pretty sweet actually! I love axolotls, so you can probably guess my favorite character.  I also didn't see many, if any, games in this jam with a language support option. Great idea, especially for a game made in such a short timespan. I wish the hitboxes and hurtboxes were a bit more forgiving, however. I love platformers so with a bit of polish in the levels and sprites, this could be up my alley.

I also can't think of any platformers where you play as a snake. What made you go with it?

Hi!! First of all i want to thank you for leave a comment about my game. I was inspired in games that i recently played like papers please for the style design the characters of my game. I decided to introduce animals for this story because i thought that talk about mental health using persons would be much agressive than use animals and i chose the Snake and the mongoose because its true that mongoose have inmunation to the poison of the snakes and i decided to do on that way. Last but not least, about the hitboxes, its true that it wasn’t the best, i have tried to do my best and i decided that only the mouth of the mangooze can defeat us because if you pick up a mongoose or a ferret that is very similar animal, the dont bite u unless you put your fingers front of their mouth thats why u can touch and stay in their back whithout die. Thank you for play the game and leave a feedback, i will take into consideration for the next jam. :))
