The visuals and sounds of the game are good. The concept of keeping the fire burning is interesting, but I don't think you've developed it fully. Perhaps it would be good if you diversified the gameplay. Carrying sticks into the fire gets boring pretty quickly. I also want to ask you, is there a way to win in the game? If not, maybe you should add it after the jam.
Good luck developing your game after the jam!
I am currently remaking this game in unreal engine 5. I will add a way to win in the game. I'll make sure to diversify the gameplay. Thanks for the advice
great visual overall
Nice :-). Scared be a bit dying for the first time :-)
Good visuals & sound effects. Dark creepy vibe and some nice fire and torch mechanics. Very nice to just see a glimpse of the ghost before you die...
Good work!
Thanks
GREAT GAME!! the visuals are nice and i like the horror atmosphere
My pc couldn't really play this game at great fps which gave me more time to look at every single frame and see how gorgeous the textures and little blue orbs were done. Maybe I'm bad but I couldn't find if the game had any other objectives or an ending other than death. Sometimes there is fun in simplicity though.
The objective is to survive as long, which isn't really an objective honestly. Also I don't think if anyone noticed but the campfire burnt out. It takes 5 mins which I think is long. I tested it at 2 mins but I don't know why I decided to make it 5 min.
The skeleton made me jump off my chair the first time lol! I liked the modelling and the effect of lighting, I can feel the amount of work to get that just right!
The biggest "obstacle" in making the death animation was how the player looks back. You can still notice a bit of stutter at the start when the player kinds of gasps.
i like all the little touches, like the eyes glowing in the distance and the graffiti on the rock. the visuals are gorgeous and the atmosphere is definitely spooky. i had some difficult finding the hotspots to light the torches. i had to hold the torch in just the right position. in fact, i couldn't light the torch in my left hand at all - the hotspot didn't show up. maybe I was doing something wrong. anyway, great job making such a professional looking game!
Thanks for the kind words. I created the lighting and holding item in the offhand mechanic a few hours prior the game jam ended. It definitely needed some playtesting.
I was really scared of the skeleton for the first time, and it's so cool!
Thanks for the kind words
