Good progress since the prototype! I made it all the way until the end without leveling up, now I know from the comments that's something you can do and I remember using it during the prototype, haha. Maybe something like a notice with information about "you're able to level up" or something would help. A nice entry, anyway. Congrats!
>What was the most frustrating moment or aspect?
When I realized the slimes don't seem to do any damage to you.
>What was your favorite moment or aspect?
Countering the whole shmup boss at the end.
>Was there anything you wanted to do, but couldn't?
There were moments initially where I thought I had to balance killing slimes and defending from air attacks. Finding out the slimes don't really damage you ruined the compelling nature of finding that balance. I wanted that aspect in the game as soon as I realized it wasn't actually there.
I really like the countering mechanic, it works really well and is very useful in combat. I also have a suggestion on the leveling up. The fireballs feel very powerful from the start, the sound and size just feels like there's a lot of power behind each hit. I wonder if it could improve some feel of the game to have the fireball spell start out looking weaker and slowly increase in size and power with each level. Just a thought.
It's a very fun game and I like all the art and mechanics!
Looks great. Plays well. Controls work well, but jumping is a little stiff and the platforming is pretty limited. Alot of potential.
Great job.
Here is a playthrough video in case you are stuck.
What a beautiful entry, congratulations!
I loved the spells vfx and enemy impacts.
One constructive feedback I can give is that I felt no impact of leveling up, I don't know if it made some impact or not.
Thanks for playing the game. You get more maximum health and mana when leveling up. Should have implemented some effects to make that more noticeable.
