What really stood out to me was the surreal, psychedelic retro visuals and concept of the game. It legit felt like being trapped in a nightmare even down the level and enemy design.
Very impressive Gameboy game overall. Loved it. :)

I wasn’t expecting to have a neat little gameboy game pop up in an rpgmaker-centric contest, but I liked it overall. Just a few things:
Couldn't get past the final boss as it seemed none of my attacks seem to hit it. Still fun game with great retro aesthetic.
Love the retro gameboy pixel style and surreal and weird environments. That final boss was quite tough to beat with all of its erratic movements!
Last game I played before bed. Big mistake.
Excellence: Overall plays pretty solid. Mostly just walking around and occasionally shooting paintbrushes though. I also didn't realize I needed to clip into a wall at one point. Also took me embarrassingly long to realize I could fight the monsters after each paint can.
Combat: Straightforward but the final boss was extremely frustrating. Still haven't beaten it as I type. Maybe later.
Comedy: Nothing funny about trippy dream sequences and traumatic relationships. Bumped up a bit for the dead end sign though.
Sound: Appreciate the custom 8-bit sounds and music. Not exactly incredible but the effort takes this a step up from your average RTP entry.
Visuals: Classic Game Boy palettes and freaky dreamlike visuals make for a very unique combination.
Story: A great combination of esoteric and tragic.
A really sad story underneath the simple gameplay and pixel art. This may be one of the more tragic Harold's I've seen. My only real gripe is with the difficulty of the final boss. Took a lot of hits and tough to dodge the unpredicable motions. A little more range on those paint attacks would have been nice.
The low resolution pixel style makes it stand out among entries and has an interesting intro.
The control scheme was a little weird to get used to.
I found the text font of the game extremely hard to read and some of the tiles messed with my eyes that i had to stop playing as it made me feel sick.
The hub area with the canvas and the doors reminded me of yume nikki.
Game has a unique premise over all with harold as a painter.
