Cool game! I think the platformer controls could use a bit of polish but i was able to beat it and enjoyed the experience. I like how it mixes different kinds of gameplay.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah that was a bit of an issue when building a game in a resolution of 72x72, it got kind of hard to make fluid platform movement. Haha
Overall really liked the game. Though I'm not sure how scarcity fits into it..
Thanks! The theme of scarcity fits into the story, it's based on my experience trying to get a nintendo switch at launch.
This was a awesome experience! Had a great time playing it!
Woah thank you! I am glad you liked it!
I agree, frustrating platform level but
the rest it's just brilliant, very well done.
ps I remember your candy wrapper in another jam, but this one !!!
Thank you!
Frustrating platform level
I have succeeded
I really enjoyed the first half, really good story telling, great visuals. However when the game switched to the platforming afterwards my enjoyment kinda dipped, I felt more frustration than bewilderment which the first half of the game gave me. It sorta felt like a different game altogether.
This game was awesome! I liked the driving part the most like many others. Traffic jam gets a whole other meaning xD
Woah thanks!! I'm glad you liked it haha. Yeah man next time you are in traffic you know what to do now!
Great game. I actually laughed out loud at the driving sections.
Haha great! I am glad you had fun.
The jumping in the store was so challenging, but I could not give up until I got to the win screen! Great 1 bit graphics, and I wish driving in rush hour was as fun as this game.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, it means a lot! Also if you believe hard enough you can drive like that in rush hour, that's what I do!
Loved this, thought it was great, not sure what the connection to scarcity was - last pretendo maybe? But loved the great sense of humor it had, took me a while to find the keys but glad I did, the driving section was probably my favorite part, really goofy
Thank you! Yeah this game was based on my experience trying to find a Nintendo switch on launch day, waking up super early and trying to get to the store in time. I was the exact last person in line to get a blue and red joycon model which is what I wanted. And I'm glad you liked the driving stage! That part makes me laugh haha. Glad you enjoy the game!
Do you have to rapidly alternate press z + x to get out of bed at the start or was I doing something wrong? If so I honestly couldn't do it, I had to cheat using a macro as I was excited to see the rest of the game, the platforming section in the store is quite difficult as the jumping isn't very forgiving, perhaps that's intentional though. I like the art style and the explosion animation is really cool, great job :)
Yes that is how you get out of bed! It was meant to reflect the difficulty of getting out of bed in real life haha. I'm glad you liked the art and the game! Unfortunately my long experience with platforming games leads me to improperly judge difficulty. Also my fever clouded a bit of judgement throughout this Jam haha.
10/10 would jump again
Woah thank you!
Was excited to see this one after you posted in the progress thread.
Love how silly it is. Using a "Pretendo Micro" being available as the Scarcity them is hilarious. Some surprisingly difficult platforming at the end.
Really enjoyed this little thing!
Thanks! Honestly I was worried whether or not this would be good. I think I was just exhausted from the fever, but I am glad to hear you enjoyed it! Now I know nearly killing myself this weekend was worth it haha.
