Description
The setings is eraly 80´s so my pallet sound need to start from there. I take inspiration from classic of horror like Jhons Carpenter soundtracks, and for the gaming reference i use a lot resident evil.
The instruments i went straight to synthetisers to evoque more the time and to give to the sound a eary chilling darker sound, lots of arturia Pigments, and V collection, almost none proccese in these track all done with the synth engine.
For the mix i just make some level adjustments, and bassicly thats all i dont need eq or compression in theses case, only some reverbs and delays.
Screenshot of DAW
The section shows the loop been cut it in half thats what i render and send to the jam.

Beautiful piece. I really like the story-telling and sense of journey achieved with the two contrasting sections and reprisal. Specially dig the noisy tail of the leading mallet-like synth at the intro and outro, and the sweeping pads at the second section, atmospheric with the just right twinge of melodic sparks to keep the ominous feeling at bay and give way to hope. The pitch bend for the departure of the pads is also great and the background voices also work great. It feels the pads are some kind of overseeing beings looking over us humans and our daily endeavors. You transported me to the eighties and I thank you for that. :)
in my mind was a lot the story of hansel and gretel, two kids that start very inocent looking foor candys in the forest, they start to follow it until they reach the candy house of the witch, but keeping the idea of the work im doing, i try 7 diferent themes for this part and even if others work, they dont feel like completly right. At the begining we havent close the time period so i was trying 70´s music, 80´s music, modern styles, more cinematics, but at the end everything start to take form, the story, the characters, place, the moments, and then we can imagine all the details, like its a small town? its a city? its a farm? and each detail you get, clear the image of what u need, and that happen with everything including the music, the rest of the themes ones are to resemblance LP's being played in a turntable, others to keep the tention of the scene, one for the climax and the credits rolls.
The game will be abailable the next week, if u like to heard the rest of the music, and all the sound design work look for it on my page and with "Savage Kitties Studio"
Awesome. That sounds like a really cool and organic creative process. I will check out your full project for sure.
I really like the chatter sprinkled throughout the song. It;s like traveling through time or memories while different scenes are playing around you, book-ended by the synth plucks that are very innocent and calming. Very, very spooky eerie vibes which I dig.
omg u nail it!!!, that´s exactly what i was lookin for, inosence, kreepe, eerie, like memories of diferent moments coming by, thanks a lot for your words!!!
This really sounds like a brilliant introduction piece to a movie or game, with a heartfelt but still cinematic composition. Love how the first plucks seem to break the opaque, distant-in-time vibes in the beginning and then the pad kicking in. To me it also feels like it belongs more to a psychological sci-fi movie rather than a horror one, and it's great! However the correlation to the more nature-like jam theme is a little weaker than other compositions.
Still, excellent job!
Thanks a lot for the words!
Many of the story is more spicological then horror, just some parts turn to horror thats why i dont use a more disonant, also i whant to add some kind of supernatural vibe with the low voices and the pads, mixed with the background noises as if you where like half sleep half awaken, or unable to see the reallity.
Super interesting approach to go for 80's synth, very gentle at the beginning and a nice pad in the middle to change the mood. There is also like a small conversation in the background for sound design at some point, what was the idea behind this ?
thanks for your words! to define the sound first we decide the time period for our story, try to get some ideas writen but this kind of sound really resonate with the timeline. The idea to use those voices came from trying to evoque a moment, most like if u where whatching a late show tv, or random radio stations, and then use some time stretching to make them more unclear and work as a vibe more then speaken words.
Trippy feeling of machine crying, the a big up vibes and then back to trippin'. Really liked it.
Electric sheep dreams
The beginning is interesting and the transition is intriguing. and I love ambient, and this is a great piece of ambient.
Thank you so much for hearing it, what you think, fits the game im working?
