Description
Well, when I saw the image and the theme, I imagined a very calm and misty environment, with mountain spirits accompanying those who cross there. Used mostly some instruments from DecentSampler, BBC Free Sympohy Orchestra and Kontakt 7.
DecentSampler: Basic Piano, Dave Choir and Bitscape95 KY Synth Mystery
BBC Free Symphony Orchestra: Piano with Reverb
Kontakt 7: ProjectSAM The Free Orchestra- Short Strings

it give me a stardew valley vibes, love how small the mix sound, like a miniature scene. Nice Work
Some of the elements compositionally don't quite fit well to my ear, and it maybe gets a little repetitive.
Nice work overall.
Hey! I did a review of your entry via video. I posted it on the Jam discord but appreciate everyone might not be on there. Here's the video timestamp for your entry: https://youtu.be/1-aLhBdNCKE?t=15596
Agreed with the others about more variety being nice, but the repetition did lead to a good anticipation for the strings to come in, which added a slightly different rhythm and feel that was sort of eerie which I quite liked.
I also really like the ending, but I do think that if you had ended it just little earlier (~3:25) on the home note it might have felt more satisfying. But as it is it leaves it a bit more eerie, which is nice as well for the theme
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the rhythm! I understand from the feedback that there was really a lack of variation, something I will consider for my next songs. I can feel what you said about 3:25, maybe it would be more satisfying to end on the home note
Like Warlick mentioned, some more variation to the repeating parts would help a lot to make this feel less repetitive after a while, but other than that I like the vibe a lot!
Thanks! I'll consider this feedback for my next songs, I'm glad you liked the vibe!
I think your use of piano and synths really bring out the misty vibes of the painting, as well as the idea of mountain spirits you mentioned in the description. This is a very calm piece for the most part -- the staccato strings add just enough energy to keep things interest, but it started to become a little stale after about 2 minutes. I would have loved to hear another melody or some new interesting harmonic stuff at some point in the piece. I hope this feedback isn't discouraging though, because I really like the mood and tone of your piece, and I think you did the theme justice!
Thanks for the feedback! It wasn't discouraging, I understand that the song gets repetitive after a certain point. I'm happy to know that I managed to convey the tone and mood I wanted.
Very subtle and minimal vibes :)
Thanks for the feedback! I'm really glad you felt the subtle and minimal vibe I was going for. I wanted to keep it simple but immersive, so it's awesome to hear that it resonated with you!
