Wow, I didn't expect it to sound like that at all. So many things you've done here are super well done. The way the songs change and evolve from one mood to another is what separates your submission from everyone else's, and it's help by the fact everything has such good dynamics that transitions sound seamless.

One thing that stood out to me and I could be absolutely wrong, is that I heard electric guitars in track 4. I think how you used them (if you even did) was super masterful: they didn't stand out but they accentuated the violins and the brass and just gave them a more edgier tone, which is really how I think you should use electric guitars in orchestra.

I think a lot of consideration was put into overall loudness of each instrument and you knew how to blend everything together. This was an awesome submission.

Developer

Yes, that was a guitar in the 4th part!

Thanks for listening - and really means a lot after listening to your work!

Look forward to hearing what you come up with next time!

Wow what well spent 14min, just wonderfull work!

The end of destruction is just so much, I felt the hairs in my arm start to spike (which always a good sign) probably my fav section, although your consumation was also one of the best interpretation I've hear in the jam, kudos mate! Desolation's middle part caught me a bit of guard, but I really enjoyed it and you manage to bring it down again jus perfectly

I have nothing to say about your mix, just on point one of the best in the jam too, if you ever wanna give some pointers i'm all ears :D

You ended up being my last one, thats what I call (as we say in my homeland) "acabar em grande"!

Great job, take care :3

Developer

Wow, really beautiful stuff!

Arrangement flows smoothly, and the orchestration sounds nicely fuill.

Stellar job with this!

Thank you very much for listening! Really appreciate it.

All right, you're certainly experienced with orchestral composition in general it shows.  Its very well build the arrangement the woodwinds runs, the swells, maybe somethings the strings could be more present in some case but it might be a question of mix with other instruments. The only instruments really that sounds a bit more MIDI then the others is probably when its powerful brass but because you have a good arrangement it does not show up too much. The only reference I had in mind is on the 3rd piece it sounds a bit like The Mask of Zorro at some point which is great James Horner stuff is fantastic. I can also see the Ori and Blind forest influence like you mentioned Gareth. Great work on this one.

Thank you for listening and the in depth analysis! I hope you’ve had a great weekend!

This was an absolute blast to listen to! Just love the instrument set, the play and tones of music. The way you smoothed it all out. Just beautiful! Makes me cry to hear things like this! The part with the vocals at 8 mins is just super super awesome! You have blown me away with this submission. Just beyond awesome. I loved every part of it!

This is absolutely fricking sick. I love it.

Only slight feedback so far is just that some of the midi instruments still sound midi. I seriously enjoyed listening to this. I could tell what each one was for pretty easily. It's also well mixed.

5:04 track, guessing for consummation is pretty fricking good.

My heart swells hearing stuff like this in the jams I host.

Jaw on the floor from me for this one. Fantastic. I was actually moved by this.

Developer

Thanks - it's great to hear you were moved by this, really means a lot!

I'm always looking to improve on my synthesis technique so will defo take the note on the midi!

Thanks again for hosting this - was so much fun to write - have a great weekend!

My reaction at 0:05 - Ooooooohhhh....

My reaction at 0:32 - WOAH!!!

The Sacrifice of Nature: You had me from the opening! That harp was such a majestic way to begin. The piano and choir just drew me in deeper. I definitely hear some Gareth Coker influence here and it's wonderfully weaved into your own style.

Afore the Harvest: This definitely feels like an ancient town you might visit in an RPG like Chrono Trigger. Very catchy. Those strings are placed so gently (something I will remember and come back to reference). I love the ominous ending, a nice bit of forshadowing.

Power and Spectacle: Right from the beginning I'm reminded of the Capital theme from Hunger Games. It works well. I can feel the overwhelming might of this unstoppable civilization. I appreciate the fact that you included some more relaxed moments. The flutes were especially nice. Wonderful ebb and flow.

The Call of War: I'm definitely seeing an army of orcs from Lord of the Rings marching here. This piece is pure emotion. I can see the camera sweep by as two sides collide on the field of battle. Very dramatic!

Ash Reclaimed: The title says it all. So delicate in its beginning. You properly mourn the death of the civilization and then slowly bring nature back. I seriously started crying when the nature motif began to play and build. It's a proper ending to this journey. Wow...just wow.

I can't say enough good things about this entry. I appreciate the fact that we both took a similar approach to the paintings: man vs nature. And we ended it the same with nature's rebirth. That being said, we executed this viewpoint very differently. Thank you for this wonderful piece. It was a joy to experience!

Developer

Wow! Thank you so much for all of your kind words - I really appreciate that! I had a great time writing this any reference to LOTR - I'm one happy guy!

Really enjoyed your work too - very similar approach! Thanks again and have a great weekend!

I love the “Commencement” part, and I love dynamic too, the journey it tell really hit, I wish there soundcloud or something, but hey thanks for sharing this amazing track!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Appreciate that - likelihood is I'll refine the work and release it on Spotify eventually - watch this space, and thanks for listening!

Love the dynamics here! Very tastefully paced and placed. My favorite part is Ash Reclaimed! I love the first 30 seconds of The Sacrifice of Nature, and it's exciting to hear it come back at the end! I agree with Mekto, parts of this remind me of the Ori games. Superb stuff!

I gotta point out, though, there is some clipping during the loud parts, and it gets pretty bad through 10:05-10:50.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! It means a lot!

Again, any correlation to Gareth Coker's work is a win in my book, I'm super glad you enjoyed it.

In regard to the clipping - my bad! I had to travel last minute, midweek for work so rushed the master a little - will keep that in mind for next time!

Superb! I wish I could rate this higher. From the opening measures I knew this was going to be an excellent piece and it did not disappoint. So many things I could say but it all amounts to this being a really excellent collection of music that perfectly captures the spirit of the theme, is professionally executed and ultimately very enjoyable to listen to. I've added this to my reference track playlist and have definitely picked up a few things from it 🙂 Very well done 👏

Developer

Thank you for your kind comment - it means a lot!

It's a honour to be added to your reference playlist too - how bloody cool!
