I can play these kinda games for hours lol. Sometimes you can get into situations with no way out, especially in the slow lane, maybe a permanently empty lane in between each lane so there's always a space to safely move into, but those lanes don't give the player any score (or maybe even remove score if you drive in them for too long) could be a solution. The hit boxes are too big and seem inconsistent, for a game like this I think you should make the hit box for the player slightly smaller than the actual player sprite so the player feels like they are pulling off some close calls (could even include a combo bonus for chaining together close calls). Having this game in portrait orientation would be better because you'd be able to see further ahead and have more time to react to incoming cars, currently if you are moving fast, especially in the fast lane, there is almost no time to react. Also I should be able to press play with the space bar from the main menu so I don't have to keep switching from keyboard to mouse and back, but that isn't a huge issue. Overall I had fun playing this, and with a few small changes I think this could be a really fun game, nice work

Thank you very much for playing and for giving me your opinion. You gave me plenty of useful tips that I will surely add in a post-jam update as they seem very interesting.

I LOVED THE LITTLE THINGS LIKE THE CAR CHANGING COLOUR AND I LIKED THAT YOU COULD CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE CAR, AN END GOAL WOULD BE NICE :D

Audio is too loud, especially the sound effect for speeding up.

Moving the car feels almost too responsive and the hitboxes are too big. Also I don't really see how it fits the theme? It's not a bad game on its own, but it doesn't explore the theme very well, and needs some polish.

Developer

Thanks for playing, technically you are escaping from the police with a car and you have to go on that highway.

I will try to fix the audio and the hitboxes issues in a next update. I hope you had at least fun playing it :)

I did, you can make some bar showing how close the police is, where it would get closer when you drive below 60 km/h and get further if you are faster? That would make it more obvious

Developer

You are right thanks, I will add it soon. Great idea

I like how moving the car feels, and the death sound is satisfying.

The sound effect for going forward is a bit loud and jarring.

It feels good to scrape by hitting a car just barely. Nice work.

Developer

Thank you very much for trying my game! I will fix all those issues you mentioned as soon as possible.

Thank you very much :)

I saw the YouTube video on your profile. You are a fairly experienced developer. Publish games that can be played in the browser, choose the right idea and win the next jam, for this you have all the skills. Go.

Not a bad game.

Many thanks :)

I would appreciate if you can give it also a review for the current game jam.

Fun game, you can play it risky or safe by driving in the two different lanes. Catchy music and simple controls.

I’ll be real with you: I’m not going to install a game for a jam. I’ll play every web build, and maybe I’ll play games that I can download and just run from a directory, but installing a .pkg is too much from a developer I don’t know. Sorry, but good luck!

Developer(+1)

Hi, I'm really sorry but this time I haven't got the time to make a web build. On windows you can download the zip file, on mac (if it works like linux) you should be able to extract the pkg file instead of installing it and run it from a directory.

Developer

In the meantime for people like you that don't want to install unknown games (I understand), I compiled a web version for you; https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/939791
