I have a fair bit of feedback, so excuse the long comment!

The feel of the game could improve in several ways, depending on how you want your pillow to feel. If you want your hits to feel snappy, the windup before a hit needs to be short, and the player needs to recover quickly. If you wanted a big hit, generous hit stop, and maybe even a "Hold to Charge" mechanic would improve the impact the player will feel. Pepper in some proper SFX and you're golden!

While the music leads to a possibly intended feeling of anxiety, I would say having a volume slider at the very least would be appreciated. In terms of composition, it may be beneficial to use less dense waveforms to make them sound a bit less grating for extended periods.

In the art department, however, it's a very charming presentation and a very well realized theme. The pixel art is great, and I love that the background photos are the child's face with red or hollow eyes, very creepy! The way the enemies become more twisted as the rooms go on is a very neat concept and makes a lot of sense given the theme of a nightmare.

Overall, very good for a first game jam!

Thanks for the detail feedback, it definitely helps in steering me into making better games in the future! The different melee mechanics and music process are a interesting take. Also happy to hear that my pixel art was a strong foundation to this development!

Hey, nice take on horror genre!
The gameplay feels good and the random arpeggio in the music fits the environment

Developer

Thanks! Happy to hear that this game fits the horror genre nicely lol

Cool take on the theme. Bedroom stretched out into a hell hallway definitely feels appropriate to nightmares. I like that your weapon is a pillow, too. Combat did feel kind of squishy? If that's the right way to describe it, idk. Possibly the lack of sound effects was part of it. The music did fit the game real well, though.

A neverending hallway are one of many fears that Kids can imagine at 3am lol. Thanks for the feedback and playing the game!

Nice Job! I really like the idea of repeating the same area numerous times with changes to each loop

Developer

Thanks! I wanted to convey the idea that the more doors he try to go into the deeper he get entangle with the nightmare.

Nice way of staying within the theme, you always do the same level but harder. Overall, a funny little game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah I wanted the room to be like a never-ending loop and it came out pretty nice for just 3 levels
