A shame you couldn't finish this in time for the jam, but I like the concept of an isometric kaiju fighter. Already the destruction and variety of maps is cool, and how each terrain affects the player speed.
The game controls weren't bad, and the little jump animation was cool.
Also just to give my 2 cents, as someone who tried to write devlogs in the middle of jams before, I wouldn't recommend it. In my experience it just took time away from either actually finishing the game or relaxing. That being said, if you find them helpful then feel free to ignore me.
This is a good base for your game, and I wish you luck in completing it! Good work!
Looking forward to seeing this project grow, the sounds and animations were really satisfying!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Iso style is super cool- the destructible environmental elements are really neat too. I liked the jump animation and can imagine how this project could develop. Artwork and controls were nice. Great job!
Thank you for the feedback!
The art style is GREAT, reminds me of isometric 8 bit games on the zx spectrum and cpc !!!
Even a potato AI would have been great, I would really like to replay this when it gets further :)
If you can jump on other kaiju on the ground or destroy building , it will be great ^^
For the monsters you can render them in 3d in very low resolution as a template/help to animate?
Thank you for the feedback and ideas! I'm glad you like the art style!
The art style and concept are really promising, it's unfortunate you couldn't finish it in time.
But that's the nature of game jams, right? I didn’t get to complete everything I wanted either!
I hope you get a chance to continue working on this. The foundations are really solid, really good work.
Thanks for playing my submission! Also hoping to complete it over the month!
