I'd rather save any comments on the gameplay for after you complete your todo list, but in the meantime, let me say that the name is a winner! Looking forward to seeing a more polished version.
It took me a few tries more than I care to admit to notice the moons "tell" and win the day. Game has a nice feel to it, looking forward to seeing the completed project.
Thanks a lot. I'm glad you figured it out. It's hard to know what people will figure out and what they won't have patience for :D
Good stuff in here! I like the sun's AI and movement a lot: it kept me guessing. I wasn't able to beat it in the 10-15 attempts I made. Ms. Xed could hear me saying, "The moon is blue, so target the other side." I really wanted a couple more lives/health bar so my progress wasn't reset when I goofed up.
Hope there are post-jam updates for this. Wanting to see more.
Thanks Xed! Really valuable feedback. I'm working on some updates, starting with balancing the difficulty. I'll look for some ways to reduce difficulty and/or allow extra chances.
Took me a while to work it out too but I there’s some real neat touches here - like how the sun’s health is displayed. I like the risk/reward when trying to hit the sun back and having the option of trying to just run away if you haven’t positioned yourself quite right.
Thanks Dominic. I’m glad you liked it. Maybe I should prioritize a little aiming tutorial.
This game is like the dark souls of game jam games. Took me a while to figure out what I was even doing. Finally killed that sun. Good job on the submission.
For other people when you push space and glow blue you can bounce the sun back rather then just turn on fire.
Thanks! I should make it clearer in the description (a mini-tutorial was one of the things that didn't get implemented yet). Thanks for the heads-up.
I just pushed an update that draws a line to show you where you're aiming so the mechanism is a bit more obvious. I also updated the text in the game page to spell it out a bit more.
