This game is JAW-DROPPINGLY gorgeous, there were so many moments playing where I had to just stop and soak in the ambience. You did some craaazy magical stuff with the lighting. Also there were a few times I was extremely scared! What a combo! Great work!

This was a unique experience. Very beautiful game. Eerie music and sound that is always on point. Great screenshot-worthy visuals. You showed us liminal spaces that we didn't know we wanted. Thanks!

wow 5G! theres alot of variety of nice environments tho. the camera shake was a bit intense but overall the camera was really cool factor to the game!

You cooked I fear. This is such a banger honestly, the environments are really awesome and the camera effects are really good at setting the tone. My only complaint would be that the shakiness of the camera was a tad bit much at times, which is a shame because it makes it harder to see the cool environments. I really liked the early and later areas of the game and felt they were the strongest, seeing the more traditional backrooms stuff in an otherwise really unique setting took me out of it a bit. However even those environments were done really well (I especially like the part where you look up and see the underwater effect of the pool). Mostly personal preference on my part. The pictures that appear are really awesome, I didn't really get it at first but it grew on me really quickly (it might be cool to have a way to see them on their own maybe after beating the game?). Overall loved it and happy to see you'll be continuing the project because there's tons of potential here.

Hello, I'm the developer of Liminal Leap, which I submitted to this jam. I've played through several of the entries and I'm really impressed by Radio Check. The VHS effect and walking camera shake are fantastic! Did you create those effects yourself? The introduction is very well done and creates a strong atmosphere. I appreciate the game's overall style (Love the outside map with the snow. It's so realistic.) , as it aligns with my own approach to game development.

While I enjoyed the game, I found the camera shake a bit excessive when running. It might be worth considering toning it down.

I think our styles might complement each other, so perhaps we could collaborate on a project in the future.

I  voted and rated your game. Good job!

Thanks for playing and rating! The camera effects along with all the character controller components and functions were all made by me and by far took the longest chunk of development time. Lots of hours spent tweaking and researching the look of a 90s era handy cam. Its filters all the way down to figuring out something called Convolution Kernels to mimic the way light stretches vertically for a camera of the era, all very fun stuff to figure out in the end. I plan to create a part 2 as an update for this to extend and remix what's already there, I'll also be packaging the player controller along with all the related functions and effects as a bundle to purchase at a later date soon.

Would you be willing to share how you accomplished such polished visuals? They're so good!
