Cool game. I think the jump could be tweaked a little. I liked the sprites. Also a nice choice of music.

Interesting choice to have the gun push you back when firing. Overall, I think this turned out pretty well.

But I did encounter a bug in the station stage. If you get to the floppy disk in the station stage and turn around and go back to the previous room, you will be stuck in the door as it has closed again.

This was a short and simple game using the basics of a very established game genre.

BUT

it feels great! Moving Tux around is fun and that is all I care for a platform game. Walking, jumping, interacting with the environment, the pushback when firing,.. all feels good on your hands.

Tux is pretty badass here and that is a win in itself :D

Good job!

This was a solid entry - if it's a choice between a larger, less polished game, and a smaller, more polished one, the smaller game is a better use of the jam's short timeframe in my opinion.

A little floaty for my tastes, but otherwise enjoyable. I appreciated that it's possible to get through without killing any of the insects, and got some extra mileage out of doing pacifist runs.

Very nice to see a submission with sources available, though that's missing from the updated build.

I appreciate your feedback and pointing out the absence of sources in the updated build. I've made another update to the game, with bug fixes and optimizations, and have included the sources in the game archive now. Also, a Dockerfile for building on Debian Buster has been added. Thank you!

Cool! I look forward to checking it out :D

Good pew-pew-pew plattformer, great looking commando tux (commantux?) Nice seeing tux in charge for a lgjam game.

Nice spritesheet. Gameplay is just a puzzle platformer with primitive mobs.

The game looks very good art wise but unfortunately I've been unable to play it, can't get the linux build running and the web build stutters a lot... Also I haven't been able to do the tutorial because the jump didn't seem to be high enough to pass the obstacles in there.. :(

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you couldn't play my game. The problem is likely due to a hardware issue. I'm currently working on a fix to ensure the game runs on a wider range of hardware.

I've managed to get it running on more devices. I've also improved the update logic, making it more playable at low FPS. The updated build is available as SpaceTuxInSpace.zip (the original jam version is still available as SpaceTuxInSpace_jam.zip). You can give it a try if you want.

I'll give it a try!
