So, I was able to finish things, but overall, I think that this would benefit from

  1. A faster walk speed, or a smaller level
  2. Ammo bars on the enemies
  3. Something to vary the pacing. Such as enemies with belt-fed machine guns, where they run out and take a long time to reload, and if you can get one, then you can use it to destroy crates or something.
  4. Negative space in the level. Right now, there’s a lot of level, and almost all of it has enemies.

It did keep me engaged from beginning to end, though, which means it didn’t stop me from finishing it. For a game jam entry, that is a feat.

(A note on difficulty, I mostly didn’t need to backtrack for medpacks, and ended up skipping quite a few.)

All around pretty good. I think what I would have liked changed to most was longer reload for enemies. My first strategy was to count bullets and engage when they were reloading but reload time was too short to bother. What I ended up doing was running in close so I could kill them with out missing so they were able to fire less bullets and then I would strategize the medkits by only taking them when I was pretty low which meant I had to back track alot. I think the first strategy would have been a more fun challenge but other than that it was pretty good.

I had a few problems with the "Hump Timer" library I used for cooldowns, the enemy reloading time was set to 3 seconds but ended up way faster in game for some reasons :x

Very detailed and large map. And an epic ending.
