Did you work in a team?
I worked with a music composer who made wonderful tracks for me, and a programmer who did no actual programming but instead helped me out a lot when I was learning.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Considering the restriction and my inexperience as a game dev, I kept it simple so I would be able to achieve my goal.

What did you learn?
I mostly came so I could learn to make a game, however small. I'm happy to say that I've learned just that.

Nice graphics! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

All the elements work well together, crisp monochromatic sprites, a good background music loop that sets the pursue mood quite well and responsive controls. Given it’s one of your early games you should really be proud, very good entry! Congratz

That was great fun (and I'm usually hopeless at this type of game)! Simple concept, good use of the screen, decent tune and sounds, deserving of a good rating - well done!

A simple but fun little space game.  I really like the art and what you did with the limited colors.  Dodging the asteroids was fun but the police ship never seemed to catch up with me.  Great game!

Solid work.  I'd say it's just barely on the side of being too difficult since at the start if you don't get a power up dodging even a single asteroid lets the enemy ship almost completely catch up to you.

I love the crisp tight controls of this game. It's a nice little morsel of an action game that I wanted to keep playing.

Because you can control the player character so well, it makes it way more engaging to plot your course through asteroid and avoid enemy fire.

Oh my gosh I'm SO bad at this game, i think my record was like 11 tops. The ship laser always got me almost right off the bat, I couldn't find out how to navigate anymore than maybe A loop back and forth across the screen. My own poor skills aside...

Super well made! Very polished, simple and easy to understand, and it looks and sounds great.

Very impressive for a first game! I like that you can alternate pushing your luck with how fast you go; but if you slow down for too long, you'll get caught by the Space Cops. One small thing; it was a little hard to tell what some of the power-ups did, recovery heart made sense, but the others where shield and speed boost? The sprites where a little hard to decipher

Super impressive first game!  good game-feel and really nice pixel art!

Can confirm now that the web build is indeed having a crashing issue - just uploaded a version with a bigger display and fixed music, and it completely freezes up for me (and as I'm having someone else make the web build for me since I haven't figured out how to do it on my own yet, I can't test it as readily as the executables). I'll try and see if I can fix this up, in the meantime the .zip versions shouldn't have this bug.

Cool concept and awesome title art! Unfortunately the game crashes for me after about 20 seconds - I’d love to see how it progresses.

Strange, the game shouldn't crash; it hasn't crashed for me or other people from what I saw, so this is a first. What happens exactly after those 20 seconds, does it freeze up completely and stop responding to inputs or something of that ilk? Also kind of trying to get the web version properly up and running with some help, if you've tried playing that version - I have something but currently the music bugs out and stops.

I have the exact same issue, I'm on the web build

Okay, so the web build will need some checking then to see why it's crashing. For the time being, you could try the downloadable version instead if that works?
