Did you work in a team?
My partner came up with the idea for the game to fit the 'steamy' theme! I did the art and programming and she provided input on the game feel and overall direction. We enjoyed working together on this one and have even come up with some ideas for a sequel!

Was the resolution a challenge?
I've participated in LowRezJam consistently for the last few years and honestly love working with such a tight restriction. Every pixel counts, especially in a one-screen game like this one!

What did you learn?
Previous LowRezJam entries I've submitted were way too big in scope and led to burn-out with so much to do before the deadline.

For this year's jam, it was important to keep the game simple as I didn't have much time to work on it. I'm glad I managed to keep it all contained (mainly working on it at the weekends) which gave much more time to focus on debugging, polishing and sound design.

I like how everything is contained to the one screen and the condensation effect of the mirror. The gameplay took a while to make sense, some kind of progression bar would be useful to tell if the task is being done. Once I understood that the game was straightforward. This was a cool little experience. Nice work.

Very well made! Watching yourself through the mirror is a nice touch. The steam looks and feels very good. The 64x64 resolution somehow adds to the spookiness of the experience. Short and sweet and thrilling, I loved it.

[SPOILERS, I would recommend playing it first without reading anything about it]

pretty cool little horror game, I love steam effect on the mirror. The moment I realized I can't clear the mirror anymore in night 5 was quite impactful. Doing your tasks while keeping the ghost away is a nice multitasking challenge

the only problem for me was that I couldn't get it to display fullscreen, kinda breaks immersion

Very good game overall

Cool game!

Incredibly tight little experience, great pacing and visual/audio polish. It took a while to figure out that I had to do each task until the bell rang, and in order too. The window was a bit small on my machine, but I didn't see any way to size it up.

SPOILERS AHEAD :

Damn, got till night 5 lol. Love how the atmosphere got more and more creepy as the game went on. You really nailed the feeling of tension a game like this should really provide. One thing I didn't like was that I felt that the sound effect which plays when you finish doing a task (brushing, combing etc.) isn't really too loud and is very indistinguishable from the other sound effects, especially with the shower turning on in later nights.

Still, a fantastic horror game

Hey Bad Piggy,

Thanks so much for your feedback, good sound design is so important in horror games.  I'm glad you enjoyed it and felt the tension throughout.  I'll make sure to check out your entry too!
