Oh my god sooo creppy. With some pixels you have created a good atmosphere and the music works really well.
The NPC faces are the best :D

Did you work in a team?
No. The whole game is made by me. (the music is taken from an open source)
Was the resolution a challenge?
I made a 64 by 64 pixel game. The main task was to add dialogues between the characters. (this also requires space) I made my own font and wrote a dialog system from scratch. And the color palette of the game consists of only two colors (black and white).
What did you learn?
I wanted to create a game with humor (that's what I needed dialogues for). I also enjoyed working with the limitations of jam. I learned how to work with small sprites and how to make a plausible walking animation on such a small scale.

Liked running animation )
Fun game but I always forgot that monster appear in top of room and crash right onto him every time )))
Nice little game. Walking around and avoiding the eggs presents an interesting challenge, and the key-hunt element means that you can't just go around willy-nilly. The game seems biased towards being easier if you start out going to the right (as it means you don't have to backtrack a key to a gate). The NPCS add some goofy charm, as does the text in some rooms. The music gives a nice somber feeling through the main track, and changes as needed. Only real issue I found was the fact that sometimes the monster would kill you if you stepped on an egg walking out of the room from the top entrance.
The 潭c潭a潭k潭e潭 monster is a lie! That's a really good mechanic ^^ and very funny too! loved it :)
Nice spoof of horror games, with the unpredictable monster movements, random deadends, false arrows, and ubiquitous graffiti. Mechanically I really like the eggs, it doesn't hurt you or trap you or anything, but it just makes you have to play the game differently. I'm sure there is a speedrun tactic where you step on all the eggs but I don't have the heart for that :0. Audio was on point too.
Great game, i coudnt find the last door before he got me :c, i really like the egg mechanic, all of problems that you have in the game are your fault but its not punishing its just fair. Great idea, great game.
This was surprisingly challenging for simple mechanics, but I still got to the cake :). The controls are realy responsive and I love the simple art style. The sound is well done and creates a creapy atmosphere. One improvement could be to have the monster not spawn if you are close to the door, I died a couple times without even seeing the monster. I really fun game though.
Despite this being a parody, I still was genuinely spooked at times. The simple graphics and concept were very effective. The only thing I wish there was was checkpoints. And I agree, game design is hard.
I liked the Npc alot as well as the black and white art style which is something I'm a massive fan of.
Overall i had a good bit of fun playing throught the game :)
I liked that the monster only appears if you crush the eggs which kept it interesting when backtracking through the levels. The NPC comments were funny too and good choice of music!
Art works well at this resolution. I definitely just crushed all the eggs at first until I spoke to the guy about them. It got way easier once I stopped smashing them all. Only issue I ran into was enemies waiting where they were in rooms I passed through so I'd end up in trouble if they followed me right to the door. The dialogue and font are all super readable so that worked great.
