This is a really well put-together project! The art is amazing (I love the use of dithering on the ceiling and floor to show depth). The enemies are very well done as well; them always approaching you gives a very "Mr. X" level of anxiety when moving through the levels. The SFXs and OST are very nice as well. Overall, very well done!

This would have taken a  while to draw. The zombies are hard to avoid at times due to the narrowness of the maps and I found it to find my bearings at times due to the directional nature of the game, even with the compass at the top but enjoyable game overall. Completed level 8, keen to see this game completed.

Such a unique take on a 1st person. Reminds me of the old days of first FP RPGs. The zombie adds quite a bit of tension. It's not hard to outrun them in most situations so that's nice. There are however dead (sic) ends which lead to instant kill. A weapon would have come in handy. Still great job!

That zombie popping up! 🙈 Well done creating this creepy environment within these narrow limitations.  🌟

This is great, did you draw every possible position? thats dedication
this reminds me of those old combat hero books
good work!

Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it's all hand drawn. I cheated a bit as the desks and other things always face you. I am hoping at some point to draw the zombies from the sides and back as they currently always face you even if they're moving away or to the side.

It's amazing, good job.

Wow, after my first almost instant death I figured out how to play properly and really liked it! The execution is great, I loved the graphics, especially the game over screen. One unexpected scary thing is: the level numbers are 4 digits long :O

Thanks for the good feedback and glad you enjoyed it. You will be pleased to hear I didn't have time for the other 9990 levels :) - I wasn't planning that many floors - just reused the door code object for the level numbers.

Wow, that is surprisingly terrifying lol. I was initially frustrated with not being able to back up, but it really adds to the terror. I also think it being old-style instead of true 3d is pretty unique, and also makes it scarier. I really liked this. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks :) A few people who played it initially wanted a back up/turn around feature. I did put both of these things in when building it but agree with you that it adds to the terror being limited to 3 moves. Also the original 3D Monster Maze only had those 3 moves.

Very scary! Just like in the Sinclair days. Great job, especially artwork.

Great sprite work and 3D effects!  Especially the game over screen.

Great fast paced simple game with increasing difficulty. I encountered one bug though, i couldn`t unlock the 9th level even after reloading and playing again.

Developer

Thanks! I er... didn't finish all the levels in time so there is only 8. I probably should have mentioned that on the game page - sorry!
