Nice movement! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation, if you’d like to take a look :)
I like the mechanic of activating the boost by letting go of accelerate even if it is a bit counter-intuitive at first! Cool little racing game.
I managed to get 30.7 for my lap! Very fun :) Reminded me a lot of playing F-Zero on early Nintendo hardware :)
Loved this! Really fun once you get a handle on what you're doing. I'd love to see it at a higher rez. Also thought the music complemented the gameplay perfectly! Great work :)
Took me a bit to figure out why I was smacking into the corners... I was letting go of the accelerate to go round, and of course, activating the boost at the same time in this instance!
Once I figured that out, it was plain sailing :)
Way to nail the Mode 7 aesthetic! Had a fun time with this one, although the boost mechanic was a bit hard to understand. Tying boost and accelerate to different buttons would help a lot!
Wait, was there a "boost"? I only saw controls for steering and acceleration.
This was really nice, either way! Smooth controls and good aesthetics! It definitely feels like a SNES racer. :)
Yes, there is. The text, in retrospect, is hard to read. It says "Release Z for a burst of speed."
Thank you for the compliments though! I'm glad I was able to nail down the feel well.
Oh, you have to press Down on the title screen! Haha! I literally thought the vINFOv was cleverly referring to the instructions on the itch.io page. I didn't even see that screen before, now I feel silly.
Nice game!
I like the idea. I had a hard time understanding how to use the "boost".
Understood! I put a little info tab under the Title Screen, but that's both not initially easy to notice, and the font used there isn't really the best option. Unless you mean there was something confusing about using it in game...?
You really nailed the look and feel. Good job
