Thank you so much!

This is a great entry! Both the goal and the process for accomplishing it are clear.

I do wish that I had a little more torch life to work with, but I always struggle with memory-oriented games like this.  :P

Developer

I appreciate the positive feedback! Just curious, cause everyone seems to have very different ways they play... do you hold down the torch and try to memorize the maze, or do you tap the torch lightly to just see whats next to your current position? Or something else?

I'm a tippy-tapper, all the way.

Developer(+1)

Nice, me too.

High score of 3712... well short of your high score, but I'll probably come back and try to top it!

Excellent game. Took a minute to figure out how to kill enemies, but it's polished, has a good level of difficulty, good art and sound, and great match with the theme. Some are saying the lamp doesn't last long enough, but I think it's just long enough to force you to decide if you want to grab all the loot or just play it safe. Good level design. The only improvement I can think of (though well outside the scope of the jam) is an automated level generator that creates progressively harder dungeons.

I'm impressed, great job!

Developer(+1)

Well done! Thanks for playing and for the kind feedback! I agree, it would be awesome to randomly generate levels. For now I basically spent the second half of the jam just cranking out a ton of unique levels and having it randomize the order endlessly.

Thanks so much!

Developer

Very cool game !! I'll play this stuff even after the jam ahah !

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! Awesome! Well hopefully after the jam (as in, when it's safe to start making changes to the game) I'll have my new improvements ready to publish for you. ;)

Good concept !
It is really adictive !!! But i'm so bad at memory games ^^'.

Developer

Awesome! Thanks! :)

Very cool, a little hard, but still enjoyable

Developer(+1)

Excellent! I wanted it to be more on the hard side than easier side. ;)

2300gold I achieved. Good gameplay. Good test of memory skills. Found the atmosphere good. Subtle audio which I thought worked well.

Developer(+1)

Nicely done! Thank you so much for playing and giving feedback!

Very cool concepet! I really enjoyed, nice work!
If the light time was a bit longer, game-play could be more enjoyable also.

Really love the idea and mechanics.

Developer

Thanks! I appreciate the comment!

I'm finding myself addicted to my own game. See if anyone can beat my personal high score!

Submitted(+1)

Addicted to your own game?! That's weird!😄

Developer

haha! I know, right? (But that's a good problem, no?) :)

Submitted(+1)

Amazing game, really loved the mechanics and the gameplay. Sounds are also really good and fit in the theme, well done.

Developer

Thanks so much!

Great! I appreciate that!

So much love for this one! I feel like you've synthesized my memories of Dungeons & Dragons and memory card games in all the best ways! It's dungeon-crawling, tile-based perfection. The randomization is also gold.

Developer

Sweet! Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Your articulation of why you liked it makes me happy!

Submitted(+1)

Expressed  so clearly and easy to understand.

Thank you! :)

Thanks Grimland!

I loved it! What a sensational idea! I hope that you evolve your idea and that it yields a game with more levels and challenges.

Congratulations!

Thanks so much! You thought it needed more levels? How many did you complete? ;)

I'll be sure and check out your game too!

Developer

(I only ask because I'm worried that people see the "Victorious screen" and think, "cool, that's the game. NEXT." when that's just ONE level and you gotta see how far you can go, ala roguelike games.)

Submitted(+1)

Oh! My God! I made it! I thought that your game had only one level and that we only restarted the game after reaching the exit and that a random maze appeared. I'll play more then!

: D

Developer

Cool! Maybe I should have included a level counter so you see it go up, indicating that you wanna see how far into the dungeon you can make it. Currently it just lets you keep collecting loot until you die. Your 3 lives don't ever refill (until you lose and start over)

Thou art victorious! haha great game! found myself tapping the torch and counting as many ahead as possible. Really tense when you run out of torch and *kinda* know the way haha

Developer

Awesome! I love that it created that tense "feeling in the dark" moment for you!
