The end goal of the game is to reunite the magical girls to launch a catapult at an approaching monster by nightfall. It's clear in the finale scene.

Most were made during the jam. A few building assets were reused from an unreleased project we did.

Oh, we went for a similar type of gameplay of VN with a bit of walking around. The lack of any sound needs to be remedied, but I'd say you are on the right track.
This is a short but sweet (pun intended) magical girl story. The ice cream based characters was a fun idea! The story and central conflict was good, if a bit fast. It's somewhat akin to a visual novel, since the gameplay is mostly talking to characters. I guess I did expect a little more for the ending, but it worked well enough.
I did encounter one bug that forced me to restart. After talking to Chocolate, I went and talked to Mark again, and got stuck. I could keep repeating the same dialogue with him, but the movement keys no longer responded. I avoided talking to him here on my second run.
Aha, I expected a full mini-game for the ending, but I suppose that works too!
The story is simple but clear. The dialogues flow well although the initial monologue is a bit long (but you can see how she’s explaining the situation, objectives and means to the player). The sprites do the job too (maybe the road toward the mountain wasn’t clear as there are trees blocking the road, but the dialogue showed clearly it was the way to go at the end).
There is some imbalance between time spent with Chocolate vs Strawberry so we don’t get to explore much of Strawberry.
The thing that surprised me the most is the sudden change of mind of the main character (and Strawberry, but that was to be expected since we were approaching the end), but I suppose there’s not much to do about this when the story is very short.

I really like the concepts and ideas in this game. It's not like "retired magical girls have to come together again to meet the threat" hasn't been done before, but I like that kind of plotline. I'm not sure what this game would be classified as- a visual novel plus? a story driven adventure?- but I really like this type of game, too.
The actual execution, though, is extremely rough.
The writing is just okay. This is at its core a narrative game and the writing isn't quite strong enough to carry it. It doesn't have a lot of wit or edge, some of the dialogue is clunky, it's missing backstory and the characters get over their issues way too quickly.
I wasn't expecting a ton of gameplay, but even still, it felt thin. You run around and talk to people and eventually the plot resolves. I wish there was some kind of puzzle to solve, even if that was just tracking down a character through a dialogue chain or getting some important item in an inventory cycle puzzle. I think there was an attempt at this, with finding the three things for the concert, but I was able to do the concert after talking to random people, only one of which was maybe an audience and none of whom gave me a stage.
If there's audio, it didn't work for me, and given that one of the characters is a singer and music is mentioned explicitly, that's a big disappointment.
"Recommend playing in full screen for best experience." The game is tiny and several screens are cut off in windowed mode; full screen is basically needed.
The graphics are pretty, and you can interact with more than I expected, but I just wish there was more life to the town.
The dialogue system works, but I found myself wishing you could hold to advance or skip faster at times. Having actually implemented this, though, I can understand why that feature isn't there.
The ending really didn't hit the right notes for me. It's supposed to be humorous, but it went too far over the line given the relatively serious tone of the rest of the game. It almost felt like, yeah, we didn't know how to end it, here's something memeable.
Still, it's cute and didn't bog down into something drawn out or tedious, so not a bad little game overall.

I like the character interaction with each other and want to know more about their backgrounds and stories.
The characters were all super unique and so creatively written! The writing/character design were very clever and I can tell a lot of effort was put into this project. Great work!
We thought the idea of ice cream themed Magical girls was neat!
The character design allowed the player to easily identify the girls and recall their names - connecting narrative/visual elements to something already known is a clever move for that. And we much prefer seeing new takes on it as opposed to the more classical fire, water, wind, etc setup.
We would have loved to know more about their individual ice cream powers!
