This was pretty tough! I took quite a bit for me to get used to the controls, but I think it made it for a pretty interesting way to play the game. That first jump was pretty tough for me to get over though, and I don't really know if even with more experience it would be something I could accomplish reliably. I wasn't a fan of how you could fall off the sides of the map, it felt like with how much you'd have to commit to jumps or how the boomerangs bounce you up, it could be a bit more forgiving with not killing you. Also I wished that the game paused when you were transforming. While it was fine for phase 1, it felt pretty tough trying to transform without taking damage with the missiles. I enjoyed the voice acting! Sounded like there was a lot of fun being had with the different lines.

The trick with that first screen is to jump into the boomerang. If I did it again, I'd move the second platform so that the player would have to jump before the throw. You can also throw the boomerang backwards, so perhaps a pillar would have been more apt.

I really like the boomerang as a mechanic, so I imagine I will be going back to these tools later on.

but why is the double jump backward? 

the jank is sort of funny...

It was inspired by the backflip in Rondo Of Blood. 

It lets you get aggressive with your jumps while still forcing you to commit in the air.

I love how attractive all the characters are. My favorite is henshin and the epic camera rotation.

Probably this is on me; just realized I did not elaborate it well enough this time. But in MGGJs usually I expect people to interpret the themes literally outside the context of the source, not in context of the source :3

That said I will let this one go.
