"Sheep of Dreams"

and the girls' names are animal names too XD

  • Sheep (Hitsuji)
  • Cow (Ushi)
  • Fish (Sakana)

Oh... I suppose "Twin" (Futago) is not an animal...

Not much gameplay and not too polished... but if there is something I love it's the designs of the girls! Definitely has got some potentials here.

Sheep of Dreams indeed XD The names were supposed to go hand in hand with their zodiac signs, it was going to become a bit more of a main feature with emblems around to unlock stuff too, it's probably hard to see the pixel signs on their costumes :') Twin was supposed to be for her power which was to sort of create a copy of herself. I'm glad you liked what I had so far, i deffo set myself far too much work , i'm hoping to finish it at some point though! :) It was a great idea for a Jam!

You can really feel how bad the time constraints are when even the characters mention it ^^'

I quite like the characters portraits and the transformation with just a litteral avalanche of hearts is the most magical girl thing imaginable, I love it.

But beyond that, I don't feel like rating this game as it is makes much sense to me, considering how different it would be from the final vision. I'd be curious to see how it would look once you actually have time to make a few gameplay parts. Good luck with that ^^

Developer(+1)

Haha yeah they're just upset they don't have any powers :p Thank you I'm glad you liked a lot of the bits (I'm a sucker for any type of transformation sequence) I'm hoping to get it to a more gameplayable state after the Jam ends at some point, so thank you! :)

Aw man, I was stoked to see what the gameplay was gonna be like! Well, I suppose that's a good sign. As it stands, it was pretty fun collecting the characters. I'm sure if you had time you would have fleshed everything out. Fun to play what was there, though!

Developer

Ah I'm sorry! I'm glad you enjoyed what was there though!! :)

I like the concept of the gameplay- switching between characters with different abilities- and I enjoyed the little bit of that there was once I figured it out.

I liked the character art a lot, both the world sprites and the portraits, but the style of the backdrops didn't really do it for me. The music was good, and the little sound effects added a lot more to the game than one might think.

It's very incomplete as it stands- as a side note I think having characters break the fourth wall and reference that as you did actually worked fairly well here- but I'd really like to see this built upon in the future.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that there was a lot that you liked about it! I think the backgrounds could deffo use some work since they were recycled a lot too, I am hoping to pick this project back up at some point to at least make it a little more rounded :)

I'm a sucker for bones-based art haha. Good job! The only sprite I'm not too comfortable with is Hitsuji's magical girl form, her eyes look a bit too demonic for me. But maybe that would be explored in the future, who knows?

It's lighter on content than most games here, that's for sure. I think there's not much that could be done to improve it given that time constraints seem to be this game's worst enemy. But I think just switching the order of the doors would give this game a more adventure or almost puzzle vibe. As of now all doors are found in the order you find the magical girl who opens it... The last door is a nice change, but it's too little too late. Mix all of the doors! Make the background more unique, too, maybe there can be different corridors, more barriers to go through... but I really have no idea how much longer that would take. Mixing the doors seems to be the thing that would improve the game the most with almost 0 extra time commitment, I think.

By the way, I loved the transformation sequence lol.

Thanks for your feedback!! I think her magical form was the first model i made and then switched to a more normal eye style and she got left behind :(

Well there was much more content planned out initially, basically making it much more puzzle based with them all having thier own powers, but i ended up running out of time and it got cut out. I like all your ideas about mixing it up that could definitely be done!

I'm a sucker for animations like that :') Thanks again!!

Yeah, this is a great start to your game! I hope you continue to work on it in the future. It's funny when Hitsuji transforms 'cuz her head gets pushed in and loses her neck...unless that's just my browser. :S

Developer(+1)

Thank you I'm glad you think so! I'm hoping to because the content side took a small time it was just setting it all up! And haha i didn't notice that earlier i'll have to fix that at some point :p

Interesting art style in this one! I wish there was a bit more gameplay, but it's a solid start. I see you submitted 1 min 49 seconds before the deadline, talk about living on the edge!

Nice work!

Haha i'm a terrible time keeper :') Thank you though! I had a lot more ideas for gameplay I hope to put in at some point :)
