Hi !
I started this topic in order to share artistic stuff with each other.
I think art comes from art, and game design is an art form too.
I'd like to share with you some inspiring things that are helping me and Daniele to put our mind to our project.
I hope they can help you too, and I'm looking forward to reading about your own inspirational stuff :D
Literature:
- The Amber Spyglass, by Philipp Pullman.
It is the third book in the "This dark materials" trilogy. I red it twice and I love it.

- The Neverending story, by Michael Ende.
This is an unquestioned literary classic. Please read it, if you haven't already.

Movies:
- Upside Down, by Juan Solanas
I've never seen this movie, but Daniele told me about this story just while I was thinking about the epilogue of Lyra and Will in "The Amber Spyglass". The two stories are different but have common topics: both of them are about two separated worlds with a place in common, and two children coming from different worlds growing up together.

Music:
-The Breath.
I'm lately listening to this amazing duo. I love the voice of the singer, the rithm they use and their whole sound.

For me, the main inspiration was this album from Murubutu and ClaverGold
https://open.spotify.com/album/3HH6dnNnW6be9n5b8RFEs5?si=JUud4ejzRHSn19eEfgjB2A
In particular the song "Ulisse"
More in general I find really inspiring songs with a lot of "narration" in it, like a bard's song. Karliene and Clamavi from profundis are two of my favourites:

Well, I am not in with a game but I think other inspirational things could be:
The subject of my submissed game came from my frequent trip in Val Seriana:

The concept of the big world for pioneers came from the fascinating Majipoor Chronicles from Robert Silverberg, in particular the continent Zimroel:

a specific part of the game, related on the Cultural Traits (Tratti Peculiari) came from another concept I was thinking about. This concept was suggested to me during a trip to Val Seriana, during the listening of the music album The Last of Our Kind from The Darkness. In Particular the prhase "defenders of the legacy" in the song "Last of our kind"

(I have to thank Francesco Zani for this album)

For the draft i've just delivered today it's hard to say what inspired me, i've worked on it a couple of weeks ago, for some hours, just gathering some ideas i came up after chatting with the Owl (that pestered me enough to write it :-D ...i don't know if this might count as inspiration :-P) .
So, this is more like a postmortem inspiration review.
In the draft i got inspired by some mechanics from Noirlandia, the idea that you can give a meaning to each seed and then to each card it's a very nice idea that i've tried to reproduce here. I've also tried to have some kind of controlled alea, instead of make it disappear.
For the thematics i sure got inspired by some of the iconic scifi movies, for example Alien, Gravity and Sunshine(trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veC25b8Vd2E).
Also by a multitable adventure some friends organized with Alien RPG (Fria Ligan), which i had the chance to play .
Finally, some music to get partially in the right mood; to try to imagine yourself, alone, in this dark void, surrounded by majestic astrophisical entities: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLudkhjWHjTE95LWYZGDPMQ
I hope those references can be of inspiration also for you
Cheers
Hi Diego! Glad to know you submitted your game, though late for the competition..
I know I can be really bothering XD but I think my bother's worth it: eventually you decided to write your idea down and that's the main thing!
Thanks for sharing your inspirational stuff, I wish you to keep on working on the project you began for the Mapemounde Jam!
