Hey all!

This is a game demo, which I made during the jam. (The dates are written on the game sidebar.) I'll try to finish the full version in time, but I'm not sure with other things happening in my life.

I would greatly appreciate if you base the Polish rating on how polished my demo is and not that it is a demo.

Thank you for your interest, and hope you enjoy!

Awesome game :). As I said great immersive story, lovely gifs and music. I would have liked a more engaging layout and font work. Maybe in a dark room way or maybe with a more pixel art style like your (gorgeous simple) gifs as idk oldschool text game like Countdown on Zx spectrum

Hey there!

I think I've played a dark room before. I just forgot its name. Really cool game.

I'll take a look at the other.

Thanks for the suggestions.

This was an awesome experience, the creepy/grotesque descriptions were incredibly evocative and the art fit perfectly. The way the text was presented was also very clever, it almost reminded me of some old ARG websites. It's a perfect example of how to do a minimalist atmospheric game.

The CYOA gameplay was nicely done and it was fun trying to figure out the different paths. My only comment would be it took me a little while to notice that you could save/load, but that could be me not paying attention :D  I'm definitely looking forward to future episodes being released!

Also there's something about pig-men that is terrifying as a concept, so I appreciated that being included :D

Hey! Thanks for the insightful feedback and VOD!

Glad you loved this!

I've always loved what Twine authors can accomplish with text style and presentation only. I'm still exploring all this, and I can't wait to experiment more.

I'll add a note in the game about the save/load function.

I hope to see you around! All the best for your Twitch and the jam!

P.S. I agree with you. Pig-men are terrifying... Especially the ones who eat ham...

Hello!

Haha, yeah, it is inspired by the CYOA books with the addition of video game elements (RPG battle and inventory system).

I might put a note in the game to tell players to save from time to time. I did put one in the game description, but I think putting one in the game will make it more obvious. This can be an alternative to checkpoints.

No worries about grinding! There will always be a branch where you don't need to grind. The levels are more there for plot reasons.

Thank you so much for this insightful review!

Very intriguing story. It drew me in with the audio, great visuals and presentation of text. I loved the music played at the pig pen and house area.

Thanks for playing the demo of there is a hole in your wall! I love the music too XD

Best of luck for the jam!

I really appreciated the story and presentation. Both felt really unique to me. having the words change as you clicked on them had a lot of great effect I thought and made the world seem eerie. When interacting with the Pig-Man, I appreciated the various story elements you got trying out different scenarios, but got frustrated having to restart from the beginning of the demo. You but a lot of effort into each branch but it quickly took away from the exploration element to have to restart. I know in certain scenarios it gives you an opportunity to retry, but I would have appreciated restarting from meeting the Pig-Man in any scenario you ended up with, not just the one.

Hello!

I'll definitely see to adding more checkpoints. Though I might also have to consider the 'nonlinear' part. Some choice options can change depending on other choices you've made. I'll see how to integrate all this. For now, as I've mentioned in my game description, I strongly recommend players to save the game from time to time.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's always helpful to know what players think!

Good luck for the jam!
