Summary:
* Create an “endless mode” that randomizes lawns with items, houses, etc that focuses on a scoring system over the requirements in the existing levels
* Use the existing levels as tutorials for the new endless mode
* Update the UI to adopt a more phone app style than a web portal aesthetic (story related)

Very good effort. Keep on improvement. I think a blue sky with some clouds in the background will add to the game environment.

YAMMOSK! YOU KILLED IT!!!
I caNNOT get over how awesome this is! The mower movement is chefs kiss, the animations for the mower rumbling & when you hit something is incredible.

The UI is absolutely perfect, very clean, matches the entire atmosphere of the game. I really liked the idea of Aunt Nancy somewhere helping you out.

I need to play some more later but incredible job! ^v^ All the hard work you put into this really shows, everything was given a lot of time and consideration.

As a suggestion for later on, maybe having a radio or something option where it cycles through some royalty free ambient music might be nice. It'd add to the chill vibe.

Great job with developing the idea, the polishing is incredible!

Some suggestions/issues:

1. Going to main menu, by pressing esc, exits the full screen

2. I may have mentioned this before, not sure - maybe some additional camera when moving backwards?

3. It would be cool to also randomize the goal fpr the "endless mode"

I really enjoyed this one! It was cathartic, and extremely well polished. It would be nice if the cutting blade was *slightly* larger than the mower itself so I could cut right next to the house (since there are no weed-whackers). Also, I discovered that the time bonus is large enough that I can usually run over any toys in the yard, as long as I'm quick about it :-) Not sure if that was intended, or is an exploit.

It is a relaxing and fun game and the UI is really cool.

Such a classic ! This game actually help me to get my driver license. Lol very great game overall, allready good pre-jam prototype but lot of stuff added during the Jam ! Very hardcore challenging imo idk if this is good or bad ? Definitly need some work on audio. Get some small lags but nothing really bad for a 3d browser game. Enjoyed it a lot :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for playing. Its really helpful to hear about the lags and definitely looking into optimizations and video settings to help. the difficulty is also wonderful to hear feedback on so thank you!

I loved the new updates! The UI is really slick the the idea of "jobs" is clever. I also noticed that the mower's wheels turn now :) Overall, the game still has that real zen feel to it!

My only thoughts were some gentle background music might have been nice, and also maybe just a general "sandbox" mode without any kind of scoring. I played it on stream if you want to see my actual gameplay (about 1hr 20mins in): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1099640781

Developer

Thank you for the comments and thank you for streaming it! I’ll have to go check that out.

Good:

The mower controlled well. The games aesthetics are minimalist and nice to look at.

There is something truly satisfying about watching the grass get cut!

Suggestions:

- Add some music! It would add a bunch to the feel of your game!!

-let me choose different mowers with different capabilities?

    -small mowers

    -big mowers

 Critique:

-I didn't think id make it through the pillars because I thought my wheels would have collision the whole time

-grass doesn't disappear from the front only after I wheel over it... logically it makes sense. But in a game I'd expect it to just cut the grass if any of my tractor touches grass. It is frustrating to me when it doesn't.

-Grass pressed against the house is uncuttable which is frustrating because I really want it all cut!

- The first level I have to clear 100% of the grass. I think its too harsh. It took me almost 8 minutes to complete that level and most people will not play a game for that long before dropping it.

-Overall, I think the game really needs a sense of progression. Either through story or upgrades or something and I can see a start of it with the money icon in the bottom of the menu screens. I am excited to see what it turns into.

Looking at your before and after progress I can tell you 've been making great progress over the last month and the game is still early in development! I hope you make it into something great!

Developer

This detailed feedback is great, thank you! The “difficulty” of the first level is something I have as an update. The game will less picky about 100% basically and keeps the “I have to get all of it” but hopefully avoids the hunting for the last bit. Some of the other tweaks suggestions are valuable and I’ll have to play with them. The progression thing is definitely on my roadmap, but couldn’t make it for this jam. I’m impressed you noticed the hints of it haha.

The Game Is pretty Good I didn't know law mowing can be fun..

Cool concept, the UI also looks great. I think a nice feature would be to mow a bit wider when there is a tiny island of non-mowed grass, sort of like coyote-time in platformers. Also I'm not sure how the grass is implemented but a swaying grass shader for the long grass would look great.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I did tweak the collision for the mowing to be a bit wider than the model but I’ll take a look at whether it should be wider still. The grass sways a tiny bit already, but I was worried about it being too much, so I’ll play with that a big more too. Thank you for playing!

Plot twist: The lawn mower has no driver, because the lawn mower is a sentient AI, lol.

I like the clean UI, makes it look professional and chill. I think the money earned should be used for something though, like lawn mower upgrades, etc.

Developer

Yeah, there a plans for something with that… unfortunately I didn’t get to that meta progress yet. Thank you for playing and feedback.

Why is a ghost driving the lawn mower? /s

Cool concept and pretty unique. I liked the phone layout for the ui. I think requiring 100% coverage for Lesson 1 was way too much.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I agree it can be a bit much. I’ve been toying with the idea of maybe leaving it at 100% but internally making it more lenient, and go off at something like 99.2 or whatever. Or maybe highlight the remaining areas with a particle effect or something which would make it much more obvious where you needed to go.

Hey there!

I really loved how therapeutic this game feels. The art style and the concept help you relax after a long day. I can see you've spent a lot of time on this. I also appreciate that there is a tutorial. It makes things clearer.

Though - this might be because my computer is low on memory - it is freezing from time to time when I am trying to play. I saw that someone suggested a graphics settings. I think it'd help.

Great job, and good luck!

Nice progress! I need to take a lesson from your UI design - it's so cleanly laid out and well presented. This fits nicely within the "chill simulator" genre. Well done :)

Developer

Thank you! I studied the UI of a handful of “hip” iPhone apps to make this look and I spent a while on some iOS dev tutorial videos trying to get a sense of how some of those transitions work.

Yikes! I appreciate the feedback. Which version were you running? If it was web, I think that the desktop versions should run better. Either way, I should add some graphics settings. Thank you again for the feedback.
