How does your game fit the theme "Unconventional Means"?
The way the player generates resources using tetris-style line clears is unique and strange for the genre. In addition, the player defends their objective without killing attackers.

Great game, I loved the art!  Pretty good difficulty curve too, I got very overwhelmed at the end haha. Was not expecting that Tetris line-clearing mechanic, intersting use of it.

Basically a PvZ clone, but a damn good one, with a pretty original new mechanic and a charming aesthetic. Loved this one.

What a cool game! I loved that the boars didn't die because they were so cute I imagined I saved them from the big eye by scaring them with mushrooms!

Also really loved the narrative on the games page!

EXCUSE ME…. CAN U MAYBE…. make this a full game?

I, and I’m sure many others, are in need of a Plants v. Zombies spiritual successor after the studio behind it got bought out by EA. PvZ hasnt really been the same since garden warfare….

I 100 percent understand the feel. I tried really hard to maintain clean coding practices but the closer me and my partner got to finishing the game, the more creative liberties I took.

I think starting from the ground up would be VERY worth it as its clear to me after playing that your team is capable of making something compelling and polished in a reasonable time frame. I would HEAVILY consider exploring this game further!

Whether you do or don’t, I still very much enjoyed what is here. And once again, Nice job!

This is a lot of fun. For someone who really enjoys Plants vs. zombies, This was a really cool and unique spin on things. Great Job.

TruffleMind Ups and Downs

Ups:

  • Graphics and audio are very appealing
  • Tower defense gameplay is super solid and fun
  • The idea of sacrificing shrooms for currency is really clever

Downs:

  • I don't know, maybe I'm dumb, but I just didn't really find myself using the tetris-style sacrifice mechanic that much. Mostly it was because I could only gain more currency than I spent if the shroom killed a boar, but it was hard to tell when a shroom was close to death as there was no life bar, so usually I would end up sacrificng a shroom before it killed anything just so I could get something back. Then again, that's probably what you were going for so maybe I'm just dumb

Overall, SUPER fun game and really impressive for the time frame it was made in. With more enemies and other additions, it would make a really great mobile game!
