Audio and music great, graphic amazing, shooting is useless. :D

Developer

thank you for the feedback. I know we needed to work on the gameplay side of the shooting a bit more.

Amazing game! I think the player doesn't have a real reason to shoot so it could be cool if you'll shoot automatically, to make the game more challenging. but this is an already awesome game!

Good feedback, thank you!

I thought this was a cool concept and the lighting effects were neat.

As others have pointed out the WebGL build is not working. Also kind of strange to leave the money donation setting turned on for a jam game (when going to download it has the standard itch.io money prompt to donate or “pick your price”).

I think the general concept of the game could have been explained better in the main menu. But the idea is novel and fun to play. My only other gripe would be how slow the player moves. I think if this concept was fleshed out further it could make for a very compelling arcade game.

Also the sound design is great so fantastic job on that front!

Thank you for the feedback! We were down one programmer mid-jam and had to rush it in the end. We wish we could have time to polish the game properly. Thanks for hte comments, we'll keep them in mind for the next time.

Dont Shoot The Enemy Ups and Downs

Ups:

  • The lighting effects are appealing
  • The music rocks
  • The concept is pretty good for the theme, considering your team essentially took a common feature of top down shooters (shooting enemies) and made it a weakness to the player

Downs:

  • The WebGL build will not load. The progress bar reaches about 90% then stops. I've had this issue when uploading a Unity WebGL game to itch.io, and I solved it by just changing the compression forrmat to GZip. If you are unsure of how to do this, check out this itch.io forum https://itch.io/t/912627/unity-webgl-game-wont-fully-load
  • While the concept is interesting, it just doesn't work too well. Since the enemies dies naturally overtime and there doesn't seem to be any bonus to the player for shooting lights,, there is no point to shooting the lights at all. A suggestion that I think could improve this is that the enemies could die quicker if they are NEAR the light or something like that
  • Sometimes an enemy would spawn right on top of me, which felt kind of unfair

Overall, a solid entry.

Hi Blue Giant! thank you for the feedback. We were down one programmer mid-jam and had to rush it in the end. This was definitely a learning experience for the next time.

Unfortunately the WebGL doesn't work

Developer

Hi, sorry about that. We had issues with the WebGL at the last minute and didn't have time to solve it. I hope you are able to play one of the other versions.
