Notes from gameplay:

- Sparse start screen

- No control scheme given

- The "help" message is arresting

- Nice audio interactions, but could use more ambient sound

- I feel like a kitchen right next to a morgue isn't the most sanitary :P

- Really loved the audio breadcrumbs to lead me to the camera right at the start

- Are the assets in the locked room unskinned?

- Was excited to go back and see the ghost at the lamp, great telegraph of future interaction

- I like the overall visual vibe, gives me a 1940s decayed feel. Very nice aesthetics

- Camera controls are intuitive and easy to use

- Unsure what to do beyond messing with ghosts.

- Aha a task. But I can't find this demon

- Could use a sprint mechanic or faster walking speed. I'm walking a lot with nothing really happening

- The metal assets show up the same blue as ghosts in the camera, creates a bit of visual confusion

- Gate = locked art + audio is a clear telegraph, nicely done

- Can't find demon to unlock gate :(

Loved the concept!!! Art was lovely. Could use more audio and gameplay was pretty scarce. I think you have the solid bones here for something great, please keep working on it! This would make a great console game.

Thanks for playing the game and for giving me a detailed analysis. I am aware of most of the problems you mentioned, but I didn't manage to implement them all, bad planning, what can I say ๐Ÿ˜ข. I tried to do enough to show the concept and I hope I succeeded.

- Yes,  start screen is quite empty
- At the last second I added a tutorial for the camera and for rotating the paper, unfortunately I didn't get around to adding control scheme
- Thanks
- I know... ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
- I wanted to add a lot more details to each interior, but no time ๐Ÿ˜•
- Thank you, I really wanted to make that first moment special ๐Ÿ‘Œ
- Yes
- Yes, that is probably my favorite part, the idea was to have a lot more ghosts that would move things, at first you would be in awe and then when you took the camera you would have more understanding.
- Thanks
- Good To Know
- More or less, that's the only thing you can do. ๐Ÿ˜…
- You didn't find main demon? He is guarding the second gate. it is spawned after picking up the paper with the key.
- Will add sprinting for sure ๐Ÿ‘
- I guess you're right, it's hard to see ghosts sometimes because of that
- Thank you
Once again, thanks for playing, I'll make sure to play your game as well ๐Ÿ‘

Ah, I didn't realize I could pick up the paper!

We ended up with quite similar ideas for this jam! I quite liked your camera effects though.

Visuals and mechanics I quite liked. I think a delay between photos would be good, I destroyed the poor demon in a rapid-fire series of photos before it knew what hit it.

I liked coming back and seeing all the ghosts messing about with things like the lamp after getting the camera. Definitely a cool idea.

My biggest criticism is just the lack of ambient audio. Silence can be effective, but as a comparison or juxtaposition. If you walk into an area and it suddenly goes quiet, the player is set on edge. If it is quiet all the time, the player just gets used to it very quickly.

I feel like you two should team up :D

Thank you very much for playing the game, while I was making the game I focused mostly on conveying the concept I wanted (according to your answer I think I succeeded ๐Ÿ˜„ )

As for the audio, there just wasn't time ๐Ÿ˜”. there's a bunch of stuff i wanted to add (i was too ambitious) but unfortunately there was no time. BTW I added the audio on the last day of gam jam and I know it wasn't smart. I should have started adding sound a lot earlier, but you learn from mistakes, I guess.

As for the demon and how easy is to kill it, it's actually a bug. The demon should teleport behind the player every time you take a picture of it (it worked in the engines editor but when I build the game that bug happens don't know why)

but yes, thanks for playing the game once again, unfortunately I haven't played your game yet, I know it's the end of the rating but I will definitely play your game and see how you approach this theme for this game jam.

Great game! The visuals & mechanics reminds me out Outlast.

A couple issues I encountered:

  • Couldn't progress past 2nd gate
  • Could use a sprint feature
  • Flashlight could be brighter (include battery drain)

Thank you for playing the game,
it is possible that I will continue to polish the game after game jam ends and i will fix all issues you mentioned.

After the appearance of the demon I don't know where to go next. Still, I enjoyed playing your game.

Hi, after the demon you go through the second gate and there you finish the game (it's just a black screen saying game over, didn't have time for cutscene :/), but thanks for playing the game :D
