Notes from gameplay:
- Cool font for main menu!
- I like how the credits have links to each creator
- Sound doesn't seem to play on main menu, but submenu options like credits does play music
- The circles on the ground created by my clicks look really pretty!
- Nice explanation of mechanics on the tutorial
- Tutorial times out to a game over without finishing if you don't do anything for a bit of time (went to type here after trapping the first skeleton)
- Game is very dark
- No barriers or invivsible walls on back side of fort, ended up falling out of world. Seem to be falling indefinitely, fps going crazy
- Skeletons are very creepy! The "wet" look enhances the horror. Nice audio for them.
- There seem to be some collision issues - can't lay traps further back than existing traps, and the pumpkins created by traps create terrain blockage. I can basically create a safe wall from skeletons with a line of pumpkins (they will path on top, but get stuck there), but I can't shoot any more traps to reach them. Laying traps also makes skeletons sometimes teleport over obstacles into the trap.
- Moving where I stand will break pathing - skeletons seem to try for the shortest path even if there is a way around, so a huge clump will get stuck trying to get to me, but when I move they will all come running
- I like the countdown for the gates! However it seems like skeletons teleport past traps laid before the gates open
- Skeletons shoot up into the air when they first spawn, most visible on freeroam
- I get stuck on terrain/pumpkins often
- Maybe the traps should expire eventually? That could add some extra difficulty and mechanics. You could also create different types of traps with different effects
Overall, I found this pretty fun! The mechanics were simple and easy to understand, but also unique and tricky which led to exciting gameplay. I love that you added two different modes. I think if collision and pathing were cleaned up, this could be a pretty cool game if you expanded it out with more mechanics and modes.
The gameplay loop is really good, it's just too dark man. I really do enjoy the gameplay, trapping them then pressing E to eliminate them is really satisfying.
Thanks for the feedback, you are right it is way, WAY to dark and that the first thinkg i'm fixing
