@kaiakairos Hey! Are you planning on/need contributors for new features? I didn't see anything on GitHub for feats, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm adding MIDI controller functionality, and was wondering if that is a feature you'd want on main, or if you have your own dev plan for future updates.
Also, does this project have a community Discord server?
Thanks!

What a fantastic take on Dante's Inferno! This was a ton of fun to play through - I really like how individual actions had consequences, or were referred to later down the line. The music fit the mood very well, and using Stable Diffusion was a good choice to get the uncomfortable, otherworldly feel just right. The evolution of Bob and the twist of the gameshow were both a fantastic touch. Got four achievements on my first playthrough as a 1,345 year old named Snork (who was horribly bad at gambling), and intend to go back and get the rest later.
My only feedback is that a few of the UI features could be improved upon slightly. One example I have in my head is during the Gluttony segment, when you're cooking, I kept clicking on the dish to prepare, and was waiting for a popup to select the prep method, completely forgetting it was populated below the food items. Nothing that detracted too strongly - just small things.
Other than that, an excellent entry to this spooky jam!
Thank you so much for your feedback and notes! We're glad it resonated well with you, and the dining/living room were basically the end of the demo, so it sounds like you did nearly everything there was to do! We definitely are currently working on a full version, and a lot of the issues you mentioned have already had improvements made. Except combat - we're still trying to figure out the best way to make it fun and intuitive! 🦊
A fun idea for sure! Combat was a bit frustrating, especially versus the skeletons. I feel that there wasn't really any indication of how or when they would hit you. Boss battle was fun but very easy, perhaps as he splits into more and more pieces they get a bit faster? It also didn't seem like more than one bullet was actually doing damage when doing the multi-shot with the gun.
Interesting and fun conceptually. In execution, the control are too confusing to be usefully playable. Having to control both hands with so many buttons/clicks/menus makes it hard to photograph the ghosts and evade them at the same time. The audio was also quite loud - the FX were screaming at me and the music was barely audible. Very cool concept, and with a bit of polish, this could be a very excellent game!
This was a fun experience. The camera locked at the players feet is as infuriating as it is an interesting concept - while I loved the idea in execution, I found myself straining my neck while wishing I could look up! The puzzles were a lot of fun (even if the physics of some boxes made one puzzle take a little longer than it should have - but that's on me!) And managing to fit a coherent narrative in as well pushes this entry up in my favorites list for this jam!
Fantastic entry! I loved the amount of polish this had - unique sound effects for walkable surfaces, the art is dreary but intuitive. The crafting system is simple and fun, and trying to find that last item you need for a recipe is nerve wracking! I would definitely love to see this game worked further - more zombies, different zombie types, and some additional polish on the artwork would make this a very solid game!
This entry definitely needs a lot of polish. Got stuck in the walls in the first room, the battle controls are confusing and half of them don't do anything. Actually, the controls in general need some serious rework. I enjoyed the exploration aspect, but found it impossible to tell which switches controlled which doors. Also, enemies always seemed to die in a single hit, no matter how far from the start I was.
Cons:
- Couldn't find enough orbs to fight the 6 million skeletons that spawn on the map.
- The gamma is so low it's like not having eyeballs.
- "EOURGH" "EOURGHEOURGHEOURGH"
- When you die and press "Quit" it exits the game instead of bringing you back to the main menu.
- Did I mention the 6 million skeletons that spawn?
Pros:
- Takes place in a graveyard
- Spooky scary
I think the idea behind this could be really fun, but as it is now I went through it so quickly even without a tutorial that honestly I thought I lost for a second when the end menu popped up! Darn game jam time crunches! Love the art style you chose! I'd be interested in playing a more expanded version at some point.
I really enjoyed the art style on this one! The sounds effects were great and I loved the spooky woman's voice. I do wish I had more of a build up about there being an enemy that could instakill though - after lots of walking around just looking at things, to suddenly have to avoid something totally took me by surprise and honestly I just walked right up to her thinking she was one of the other spooky characters you could talk to. Definitely had my curiosity piqued to find out what was going on!
Very cute game! The music was entertaining and gave me very cheerful Halloween vibes. Controls feel a little stiff and obstacle collisions are very frustrating to work around. I think the art style is really fun and unique, though it could do with a bit of cleaning up to make things more consistent style-wise - the coffins and the trees for example don't really match at all.
I think the idea for this is super fun, and I love the variety of minigames that you chose, but no matter how many times I've tried to reload the game the only control that worked was mouse click. So the only game that I could actually play with the drink mixing one. Am I missing some kind of key presses that it should be for the fighting and rhythm game?
This was absolutely ADORABLE. I'm so impressed you did this all by yourself in two weeks!! The art and was writing was all so well done - I loved seeing what the dogs would come in and say at their next visit. The coffee making itself was very fun despite its simplicity (understandable), and I did end up forgetting one of the orders towards the end haha.
I feel like the controls could be streamlined a bit, with perhaps just "E" being used (instead of "T" for tomorrow, and maybe a selection option for yes/no on the order instead of "Y" or "N"). The main song playing in the game seemed a little spooky also - but of course you only had so much time to create it alongside everything else. I would love to see you update post-jam if it interests you, with additional customers and more order customizations, etc! My favorite submission so far! -Nell
Thank you so much!! We really appreciate your feedback and comments! As for the bounce mechanic, it is a curse I still think about every day - aah! It was so much better before the last-minute change, I swear haha!
We'll definitely let you know once it's fixed! We're planning on a quality-of-life update right as soon as the jam ends, so keep an eye out for that!
Thank you again! 🍁🐍
