Impressive :O online Multiplayer for a jam game ?

Really cool however i feel that this is a bit of a double edge sword, since it could be tough in a jam setting to have many players to test the feature out and get the full experience :(

But none the less impressive that you’ve put yourselves through so much work in so little time to make something with networking involved O_o

But i like the mech’s design and i also really enjoy that even if i couldn’t test that aspect, the multiplayer seems coop focused rather than competitive.

Overall Well done you all :)

Thanks, multiplayer was probably the wrong choice for a jam, but we got it done! I'd love to play it wit you!

Well like i said it’s cool you guys went the extra mile for making something multiplayer, but in a jam context i think it can be tricky to get a game going, but cool that witht he coop focus people could still try your game and not just walk around empty maps though :)

Didn't get to try it multiplayer unfortunately, but its very cool solo!

Developer

thanks, reply with a time and we can play together!

I thought this was really fun! I liked that you couldn't just hold down the shoot button and had to plan out your attacks. The aim sensitivity was a little high for me, but I enjoyed this game overall :)

Really like the main character model for this one!

thank you for taking out the time and playing our game !!

So, there are some issues with the multiplayer on the jam build, the github build only adds a respawn zone under the map, so that these issues may be fixed. Know that you are not required to play the github version (most recent), but if you want the best experience, here it  is: https://david100awesome.github.io/Swarmageddon/

nice game, indie multiplayer gets a automatic thumbs up from me :D

personally i'd like to have a mouse sensitivity slider, the default was too high for me

Developer

yeah, we submitted at like 1:50 am, so we didnt have enough time.

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

For some reason mouse sensitivity was way milder on Unity so we didn't notice until it was on WebGL.  I actually tried to patch it but the build finished at 2:01 😣

Definitely need to play this again with others! It's very impressive you got it all working in such a short amount of time.

Edit: Well now that we just played it online I like it even more, really fun and impressive!

Developer

thanks! we put alot of effort in it, it was heartbreaking when it didnt work the first time. But i figured it out! (it was a latency thing, so i jsut moved out of the way before you spawned in)

Overall, it seems like the game is ok, but there is room for improvement. I played it solo, taking down enemies on my own. To attract more players, I suggest enhancing your itch page and investing in marketing, as it plays an essential role in reaching a wider audience. Keep up the good work.

thank you, multiplayer was the wrong choice, which led to lots of cramming in the end.
