First game for a jam? Not bad at all. This has a lot of potential. I immediately thought about a chess dungeon (but it’s invented lol), but you could add other chess elements here. The scary style is cool too. Keep it up!
Interesting concept and cool presentation :)
I did find myself hunting in the dark a lot, though - I wonder if making the map smaller; or maybe a mini-map, or the the pawns more obvious would help at the points where you’re just stumbling around.
But I did have a lot of fun hunting down those bots :D

Good game idea, but the delay after every move is frustrating when you need to move that far on the map
I see, I'll cook something up If I'll ever work on this project again to make this game more fast pace or tolerable. I've tried makin the bot pawns move faster but it sort of breaks their collision detection and whatnot so yeah, I'll look into it. Anyway, thanks!
I'm embarrased to admit it but the sound when you kill a pawn made me jump a little

The game feels a bit too bland and slow. After playing for 3 mins, i realize i spent the last three minutes just mashing buttons, hoping to see a pawn so it got a bit boring.
Although i love the concept it is really cool and you can work a lot on it to expand it :)
Thanks for the motivation and critique, the cremate system is still a bit buggy, so I lost quite alot of motivation to continue it after the jam. And the game being slow, I'll figure something out cause you know, you have to wait for the 9 other pawns to make their move until you can. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. The idea is good but the controls are too unresponsive which kind of ruins the game for me.
Sorry if the controls had a delay, I'd make it more responsive but it would interfere with the other pawns since 2 pawn bots could move to the same empty spot to have them cascade at each other, which is not intended since they're not supposed to overlap each other. Thanks for the feedback though.
It's fun. Sound combined with art makes great atmosfear(pun intended):)
the movement is sticky, I'd want to move faster. And in polished version on windows you can't restart and you can't die by running out of steps so you just stand here in the endless night covered in blood.
And the limit of steps is the key, makes you think and replay the game several times. Which is good, cos I like chess.
