Very much enjoyed that! That monster is very spooky looking... Maybe adding a distance meter & personal high score so you can track how far you've gotten as well? I think that would make the feel of upgrading more rewarding!

Developer(+1)

Funny you should say that, that's what got added in the update!

Glad you enjoyed the monster design :) it took quite a bit to get it right!

Well that'll show me for playing the original jam version, apologies haha! (if the option is there I always pick the original, for the sake of authenticity)

Genuinely enjoyed this and couldn't stop playing. Having to walk backwards towards the demon was nerve wracking. Getting to buy stuff from the shop after dying felt like a  great consolation prize that made me want to keep playing

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed :) I'll check your game out when I get the chance!

For anyone wondering, There is a new update! This fixes many of the balance issues and also adds support for multiple resolutions. If you are interested in what the game could have been had I had a little more time, please check out the update!

Thanks for all your feedback so far, it's been invaluable :)

I could agree wit he balance issues, but hey, in a short jam we should not judge by that. I think that it’s more important to show the concept, we can’t expect to be perfect. Anyway, very nice entry.

Interesting concept for a game, the random generation is good.

I think I'm dumb or I broke the game because I couldn't do anything :( Stuck in front of the bed

Developer

There's a continue button in the bottom right, if you are still confused take a look at the 'How to play' section in the main menu :)

Oh I think my laptop's resolution is small so it cuts out a lot of the borders

Developer

Oh darn, I will see if i can figure out how to fix that...

Fixed in the newest update!

It looks more like it was made in Scratch cos of how the collisions work, but overall it's great! It needs  some balance cos I just got 400 sanity in the third run and just because I knew it was enough I died on purpose. It becomes too easy with everything level 2 and it's too easy to get. But then, every replay feels much more different from the other that way
Nice job

Developer

That's true haha, didn't have much time for play testing. mistake to learn from!

Thanks for playing!
