This is a great game. I did not expect to keep going back for another round. Looks good, good music, very nice art on the intro and ending scenes, and an awesome use of the limitation. The only real issue I had was that I sometimes got stuck to the side of a number while falling and couldn't recover, but sometimes the numbers would change in a way that saved me, so that was cool.

Your penguin moves when i press the D-pad on my controller, but none of the buttons make him do a jump :c

Moving with the controller and jumping with spacebar, i found that often but not always a coin would double-count for the score, and when that doubling results in a 1 digit it makes for a rough time!

Hi thanks for the review! I didn't specifically add Gamepad support into the game which is why you can only Jump with the Space Bar right now but I'm definitely gonna fix that in the future!

great work

Every was very well made and you did really good to follow the limitation. I could see how there was more room as the score got larger and started avoiding trying to have a 1 or a 4 in my score.

The penguin is sooooo cuuuute. I enjoyed your interpretation of the limitation here. At first I thought "So I just stand here?" and then when I got above 10 I understood why it mattered! Great artwork.

Genius use of the limitation and amazing art!

Really liked it! One of the most enjoyable games I have played this jam! Only recommendation is maybe speed it up the farther you go.

Great game! The concept is very familiar yet quite fresh, the limitation is also very interestingly incorporated. And, most importantly, it is VERY fun. Nice job!

I LOVED this. The visual novel in the beginning is so gut and so extremely well painted. Has blewn my mind. And than, as I got, that I have to walk on my own score I was like "whaaat?!". Brilliant concept. Had a lot to laugh. Thank you very much for this experience.

Creative use of the limitation and great art. The controls are good. The double jump makes it relatively easy to win, maybe too easy. Overall a fun game.

Hats off to whoever came up with that way of implementing the limitation. That's so clever to actually have the score be your platform.

The opening cutscene is very well drawn and I respect the ambition in having a series of fully-drawn images to form a cutscene. There being no music feels weird, but I think the drawing makes up for it a lot.

The Flappy Bird-like controls were pretty well implemented.

However the enemies, specifically the dolphin and the bird, felt a little bit inconsequential. They subtract points which while that does hinder your platform, if you go from, say, 30 to 28, that seems like nothing. An enemy that fully resets your score would've been nice, though, that may also teeter it into rage game territory.

But, it's a testament to this game's overall quality that the enemies are the only real criticism, and even then a very very very nitpicky one, I have of it! Very solid game! And I can't say enough about that clever usage of the limitation.

Thank you for the in-depth comment! We do have some enemies in the game that subtract a very high number off of your score however, they don't spawn until very late into the game when you are on the harder difficulty settings and even then only very rarely . But now I am thinking to maybe increase the spawn rate of these in the future!
