There is a rhythm mining mini-game. Rising lava, lights, an environmental features all sync up to the rhythm of the bg music.

The music is pretty good and I like the little guy bobbing along with it! The end state isn't very final, you can still move around (and jump into lava and die and restart the level" even after the YOU WIN message is displayed.
I also discovered another perhaps unintended feature: pressing mine on the same note multiple times works. Like you would normally have to hit 8 beats, once each, rigt? But you can just as well hit four beats twice each, and mine twice as fast. If intended, cool secret! But if not, maybe a bug, haha
haha thanks; Our music guy did some solid work!
Good finds, those are definitely some “oops ran out of time” game jam bugs.
thanks for playing!
Enjoyable game, actually pretty relaxing regardless of the danger of rising lava lol.
Bugs found: Character animation is broken after you die once. I was able to spam E and get multiple hits from one "beat"
Nice job! This would make for a nice mobile game with its verticality. I thought the main character was v. cute even if he is wanted for treason by multiple countries. The lava cave color palette makes for a nice underground adventure theme and the platforming was good enough that I could beat the game even though the sun was in my eyes.

its interesting. the collisions and the mining minigame broke slightly sometimes though. also a web version would be nice.
I wish we could have created a Webgl version of the game, however Wwise isn't currently supported by web browsers. This being said, Wwise is working on adding this feature in the future, it's currently in a "tech preview". (If interested) Take a look at this YouTube video AudioKinetic posted about it. Thank you for the feedback!
