rlly fun and addictive game to play!! i would love to see this game updated in the future with sum powerups! great jobb
thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! :)
high score of 30! Lovely spritework, feel like it moves a bit too fast, almost kinda like a warioware minigame? I think some more complex level layouts might make it a bit less repetitive. Very cute, well polished entry overall
(really impressed with publishing on HTLM5 with your own game engine btw!)
Thanks for playing and thanks for kind words!
Yes, I think for example bigger levels with more time to really run away from mobs would do good.
Regarding the speed: I kinda wanted it like that: ultra quick loop, and when you fail, you back in game in a blink of an eye. But I see it might be too fast, agree :)
Is this an endless game? I reached room 201, and there’s been no challenge at all so far. Am I building up to some kind of boss room at 1000?
It looks nice tho, and the music is a bop!
Concrete design analysis: I think the rooms here are far too small in comparison to the shield and dash abilities you have. You can reach the end in a split second while being completely invulnerable at all times in every room layout I’ve encountered
Yes, it is an endless game. I imagine it would be better to implement some difficulty progression and, let’s say, a boss every N room.
Thanks for the feedback about the room size! Yes, I regret not trying to do it on a higher resolution, with more space for an actual challenge of not getting caught by mobs.
Thanks for playing! And I’m glad you appreciated the music!
Really fun game! I agree with the idea another commenter had in regards to having upgrades and limiting attacks. Would really like to see more from this game!
Totally! I imagine it would be great to have:
Thanks for playing!
Really neat game! I went through 60 levels in a row. Definitely started seeing the same levels pop up. I feel like it'd benefit from a stage system (5-20 levels back to back in increasing difficulty) would be neat for a final version of this if you want to continue the concept. Maybe also some upgrades. I feel like the attack went on for way too long making it a bit easy. Maybe with limited uses (3 per level or something?) because I basically just used it in the beginning and that lasted me through the level usually.
Definitely the most fun I had! I hopped back in a few times just because I enjoyed playing it. Well done!
If you get the chance, I'd like to see what you think of my submission!

There are… 8 levels total, this is the max I had time to prepare before deadline :D But each level have multiple possible places for the light to appear. I totally agree would be better to have a bigger variety of levels.
Something that aligns with your feedback and I imagine would be good:
I am really glad you had fun! That was my 2nd most important goal: no matter how simplified the game is, to have fun playing it, even if for several seconds. (my 1st goal was to find out rough edges of my own game engine, the parts of its API making me irritated when hurrying up in the jam)
Will check your game for sure!
UPDATE: ah, sorry, I see Spellslinger is for Windows only, and I am on macOS
