Great concept! The dual challenge of beating the enemies and destroying the green they create is really interesting. The framerate was pretty low and I experienced some crashes. I am using Firefox on Windows 11.
Thanks for playing! I'll definitely be doing more testing in the future with async programming and thanks for letting me know the browser so I can experiment more with that as well!
Nice game! I like how you included the mechanic of covering up the green. It made the game feel more engaging than just straight up killing enemies (which is also fun tho). I also like the flamethrowing animation.
I think I took some free damage from the triangular spikes when the stage switched up - I was walking over a safe tile when all of a sudden a triangular spike spawned under me and hurt me.
Thanks for playing! Yeah after each round a set of spikes appear, I probably should have had a indicator and delay when they spawn so there's a little heads up
Last Day UPDATE:
The gameplay is really good; the two weapons complement each other quite well. With some optimization tweaks it could be great.
Thanks for playing!
pretty fun gameplay... like the character designs, could use a bit of optimization though, cause it was crazy laggy for me (,,>﹏<,,)
Thanks for playing! Yeah I'm doing more work on the side for a better async setup that should be more performant going forward
Nice the game was fun and I love the fire aspect I hope this does well and becomes a real game also it was very inspirational and the music is a certified BOP
also if you have time I would be grateful if you rated my gamehttps://slimegamedev.itch.io/fishing-game
Thanks for playing!
Nice flamethrower! I beat the boss and I like that you have different weapon types for two fighting styles. With more performance and design optimization, this game has the potential to be a great jam submission ^^
Thanks for playing!
I burned them all.
I think I had some performance problems, I had quite little FPS which made the game jerky.
If you could try and rate my game, I'd be grateful! Thanks for playing!
The game is good but i think music and the performance of the game could have been better!
Thanks for playing! I agree I'm working on getting better at music but ended up tossing what I did cause I didn't like it and do just decided to slap on some generic hype music lol
4pm EST, UPDATE: unlocked frame rate, movement adjustments to compensate, and reduced async processors for sprites
I thought this was going to be a reference to the movie Lawnmower Man 😅
Game felt laggy and music didnt match the gameplay. All things that could be easily changed out.
If you had more time what over things did you have planned to put in the game? 😊
Thanks for playing! I was hoping for a shop with upgrades, more weapons and enemies. Also give it another go I unlocked the framerate
Awesome FLAMETHROWER !!!
Thanks for playing!
Fun game but it felt pretty laggy, not sure if thats intentional or because i was playing on web
Both, web build is slow and I turned down the fps slightly to compensate for the late game amount of sprites
Update: framerate is unlocked
