It's cool and kinda metroid-y. I'd love to see a more fleshed-out version of this
Short little Tech-Demo, but i loved every second of it. Would be great with a hide and seek gameplay like prop-hunt. The solved puzzles would be a clue for the seeker… anyway, good work!
I had so many ideas for this one haha, I was going to use areas with boxes be a space where if you were in cube form patrolling guards and swinging surveillance cameras wouldn't spot you. It was going to be puzzle platform based and allow for some cheeky ways to take out guards along the way, I still am working on it because I liked where it was going but it's definitely more of a several week project than just a weekend one.
Then I happily look forward to it!
I agree with Burnadet I would have loved to see more of it. Like some of the other ideas I could definitely see a full game out of this, especially with the Cubify skill. It would really lend itself well to upgrades (new shapes, moving while cubified, squashing enemies with it, adding a propeller on one side that you could use to push in any direction you want...). Really cool concept, love it.
Thanks for the kind words and feedback, I have a bunch of ideas for adding on to this and I think they'll be really fun once it's finished. At a minimum though I learned a lot about making a 3D game and have a pretty good character script set up now for future games!
Following you in case you update it :) I could definitely see that being transformed into a commercial game, and the artstyle already kind of fits the indie market so it's really a matter of polishing and content at this point. Again, good job on it ;)
Awh MAN! I got so enthousiastic playing it. Cool character, animations, nice lighting, fine textures, could cubify myself. Cubifying activated the light and open door. And that's it..
I wish you had an extra day! Would i've enjoyed some more levels in this one. (and a bit of sound)
Thanks so much for trying it out, my original idea was to take a 3D platform style approach and add the cube gimmick and try to focus gameplay around that gimmick. I came up with a bunch of ideas and unfortunately I ended up spending too much time perfecting lighting, animations, and movement as well as the simple switch effect. I was actually in the middle of downloading some basic sound effects when I decided I was about to fall asleep and needed to submit it haha, hopefully I can come out with a full version soon that delivers a full functioning game!
