I knew I wasn't the only one who chose gates as a main character!

Regardless of how easy this game is, the time-based scoring system is a perfect fit. Or, one could say, a match made in heaven.

What's your best score? I've got 1490.

Developer(+1)

Haha I thought the same thing when I saw your game!

I also feel that the time-based score system was a good idea since it forces the player to act faster, making the game a bit harder (at least in theory lol) but there is a bit of tweaking to do to make it a challenging game.

I've got 1500 but I played a lot in the last 3 hours of the Jam when testing the game 😛

Thanks for you comment!

The art looks incredible, the gates and the clouds have awesome quality and it's original art
The game itself is a bit easy, the idea is fine and it works well but you have a large amount of time to see if the angel has demon traits or not. all in all nice and enjoyable entry, the art is awesome

Thanks for you kind words on the art :) it's true that there is too much time to "judge a soul". This is because the longer you take the less point you get for judging it right, but even with this mechanic I agree that 5sec is a bit much lol

This game is quite interesting but maybe too easy to handle: have your vision a little blurry and look if there is any red part on your soul to determine if it is a demon or not. :)

I believe you could have done more mechanics (more souls at the same time, more details on the different souls, consider a purgatory for souls with no demon parts but not all the angel parts) if you had more time.

=> nice game but could be even better!

Developer

Thanks for your comment! About the difficulty we unfortunately we didn't have enough time left to make it more challenging that's why it's so easy. Next time we plan on using more time designing the game mechanics and less time doing mostly art/code!

i really like your interpretation of theme and limitation, art is awesome!

(of course i did not read the instructions, but after 3 clicks i understood the mechanics, what's really good :) )

great job! :)

Developer

Thanks! Glad you had fun :)

The art and concept are amazing. One gripe I had was that the angel/demon was a little small, but that may have just been preference.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! :P

Cool concept with some nice art and pretty easy to grasp. Could have done with a bit more depth, but then- it was only a short jam!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! We wanted to create more types of souls to spice it up a bit but we ran out of time unfortunately

The art is really great! The gameplay, though, is very minimal. I wish there were something to spruce it up-- such as devils trying to trick or distract you, or having more base models of people show up. Maybe over time, the devilish traits would get more subtle? Good presentation, though.

Developer

Making the devilish traits more subtle is great idea! We were looking for a way to make the game a bit harder and this would have been the way to go I think.

I like the game alot, however it seems like you spent more time on the coding and art then the actual gameplay and enjoyment factor. It is very addicting however and with a few tweaks this game could be great.

Developer

That's pretty much what happened, by the time we were done with coding and arts we didn't have a lot of time left to tweak the gameplay. Thanks for your comment!
