Let me guess... Music made on BOSCA CEOIL? :D

I really enjoy this game :) Nice art. Game is not that easy to play! Challenging.

Developer(+1)

No it was actually made on FL Studio, it was my first time with it... and that's pretty bad xD your music was so great !

Submitted

A bit scratchy, but good if it was your first time! :)

Try BOSCA CEOIL if you want. It's super easy for beginners to create a synths ♥

Definitely a STRONG contender for top. Also I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but damn this game is BRUTAL past level 3. I managed to finish the whole thing in one sitting but it took me 2 hours, and honestly felt harder than Veni Vidi Vici XD

For mechanics, that’s kinda where most of my suggestions sit LOL. The FoV imo is a bit narrow, I personally would have preferred a wider FoV. The double jump mechanic felt awkward at times, as if you jump too close to the edge, one of the two jumps gets “eaten” per se. Some grace frames around the ledges would have made it a lot more consistent IMO.

I do wish that the beat indicator was synced to the beat of the music. That way I wouldn’t have to stare at both the beat indicator and the gameplay. For much of the game I had to focus entirely on the beat indicator (since I had no other way to tell when to click and when not to), which beyond the fact that it took away from my ability to enjoy the graphics, it also meant I had to assume where I was going and hope I was right (half the time, I wasn’t…). This became particularly annoying in the last level where i needed to stare at the indicator while also looking where I was clicking, to click on the sticky platforms. Perhaps this could be improved in a future update?

The last thing in terms of mechanics which I feel should be improved is the red square which slowly rises and eats the whole level. To me, it’s not very obvious what it’s doing, and up until the last level, I thought the game was bugged and that the level would randomly disappear after a while. Even after I realized what was going on, I found that the perspective made it almost impossible to gauge how much of the level is eaten and how much is left to go. I’d have replaced it with something like a red plane what sits at the bottom of the current floor (and perhaps consider keeping the bottom part of the level intact, only raising the plane), as that IMO would be a lot more friendly on the perspective.

The art in this game, for a 48 hour game is absolutely stellar. The laser things from the sky felt weird when you look up though, maybe some kind of cloud effect could help the top be a bit clearer though. The rest of the art was beyond 48 hour standards, though. I loved the subtle shift between a bluish hue and a reddish hue as time progressed.

The sound effect and music in this game are nice. The music got a little repetitive after a while, though that’s probably more due to the fact that I listened to it for 2 hours straight LOL. As mentioned before, I do wish that the beat indicator was synced to the beat of the music.

Overall, this is among my favourite games, if not my favourite game from this jam. Impressive graphics paired with solid controls and volcanic anger make for an extremely fun and distinct experience.

Fun game and a really nice concept. I personally found it a bit hard but that's just me not being great at it. Good job especially since it was made in the 48 hours of the jam.

Submitted

Nice game, I would like the beat to actually go with the circle for the jump though

Developer

yeah I realise at the end that the circle and the beat where off sync. But I will fix it

Amazing! For 48 hours, the graphics are absolutely amazing, the mechanics are simple, the soundtrack is great. I love the FOV change, it is making the game alot harder.

Definately continue working on the game after the voting! Very nice game! Keep it up!

Submitted

The graphics are really good. But to me the beat seemed inconsistent, and the FOV makes platforming extremely difficult.

Submitted

A very creative Idea! Liked the mechanic a lot, but the inconsistency in the double jump frustrated me a little.

Submitted

Wow! Very fun! The levels do get difficult very quick, and that FOV :-/

But the game was super satisfying when you got everything on the right beat. I probably will finish this game if I have time. Great entry!

Wow ! Really cool game here ! The mechanics and the level design are really nice even if it is a bit hard. The graphics are nice too but the changes of FoV makes the game feel really weird sometimes. I gave up for now at level 6, but I will probably try again after the voting period

Developer

Wait... you reach level 6 ? that's kinda crazy, I thought everyone will give up at level 3 xd, that's awesome, the level 6 is not really good, I had only 30 min for making it.

Submitted

Level 3 was quite hard indeed xD Please, please release a post jam version i'd love to see what you could make with more time (and reduce the change of FoV) :D

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah, i use a really complexe function based on the velocity for he FOV, but I didn't thought the player could get so much velocity xD
But I plan a full released! But I will take a lof of time, I want to make a real game, and maybe publish it on steam

Submitted

That would be awesome :D

Submitted

That's such a good game :D

Art and sound is cool, and the gameplay is amazing.

The only small detail I found confusing is that I'm not sure when exactly the beat is, like I don't feel it's completely synced with the music and/or maybe there should be a better indicator eg. instead of the bottom of the screen, make a pulsating screen effect (eg. red vignette?).

But overall as I said, it's amazing :)

That was very imaginative, thank you very much for the game!

Submitted

Nice game overall ! The player feels a bit small compared to the environment.

Developer

you're right, I notice it too, it's because textures scales too

Submitted

the game is good.I like it

its amazing!!! thats all i can say haha it was so fun to play even though i kinda suck at it xD

Very nicely polished, the art style is very creative and visually interesting. I also think the gameplay and genre blend concept is really well thought out. There are a couple intrinsic design choices here that really get in the way of my enjoyment, however. For one thing, I think the fov being tied to the player’s velocity is a good idea but the execution here is way too aggressive and feels nauseating. As well, because the beats to time my moves to are so far apart, I find it difficult to use the “dash mechanic” or sprint or whatever you’d like to call it. The only useful move for the most part is the jump, because the beat timing really requires me to be patient with my platforming. I think some better thought out level design would help in this regard. Overall though its clear that there is a high level of polish and technical skill at work so nice job!

Developer(+1)

thanks for the long post ! Yeah I definitely sucks at making level xD if I made a full release I will try to improve everything you said

Submitted

Really cool game! I had a lot of fun with this one, definitely one of those games where you start to feel like a jedi once you get good at it :D
I am, not as good at keeping a rhythm as I thought, it turns out :P I did get part way through the third level though!

The music great, the look of the game is wonderful too! the mechanics are tuned well! great work! this is wonderful!

Wow! Loved the art and the core gameplay - super addicting! I have been playing for a very long time, definitely feels great when you hit that jump right on beat. I think this has some serious potential to be a full release. My only issue is the FOV when you dash, it wobbles a bit which can make it tricky to land accurately on a  platform, and though I did get used to it, I think it could be toned down a bit. The music did get a bit repetitive after a while but besides that all the sound and art was amazing, insane that you got all that done in 48h!! Well done, fun platformer with an addicting twist :)

Developer(+1)

thanks you so much ! After reading all these positive comments... maybe a will try to make a full release! But I’ll need time ´cause this version is far to be polished, in my opinion xD

Yeah the FOV , the UI and the synch are the problem the other said, I will try to be more aware of this kind of problem next time xD

Submitted

Yeah I think a certain level of polish would be required, but this is an awesome start. If you can do this in 48 hours, I think with more time this could be a really cool game, the core mechanics are definitely there. Good luck with wherever you take this!
