Very unique gameplay. It felt great.
Thank you!
Great game! It works well with the combination of the overworld and the combat with similar controls in both but different goals.
I like how you have to protect the hearts in battle, I first tried to pick them up to gain more health. But it's a good thing to protect them, like how you need to pay attention to not bump into them.
It feels a little fiddly when there's a 1x1 hole you're trying to fit into from a corner, kinda wish that the blocks have a circle collision in corners.
It's a little slow to aim around. Maybe if there were mouse controls, or if it was possible to hold shift to change angle faster.
Thanks!
I did add some acceleration to controls, but didn't spend too much time on that, as million bugs started popping out :)
I will improve that for sure, but for now I plan to stick with keyboard controls as I feel it gives you more precision.
Such a great concept of a game! Very nice polish and fun gameplay, great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Role. Playing. Golf.
Genius! :D
Good job!
Thanks!
This was really well polished. I loved the unique take on a golf game. Great job!
Thanks!
THIS was incredible. I loved how the golf mechanic works in the overworld and then the battles were a great mix of strategy and skill. So freaking cool. I had an incredibly clutch victory over the king (literally a long ricochet shot from across the field against the final knight that would've killed me that turn) and I threw my hands up in excitement. It felt like sinking the 8 ball in a game of pool. I can't believe a jam game gave me that range of emotions.
I enjoyed that there was a little "story" ... just enough to be a treat when I got to the end. Everyone should play this game. Seriously.
Thank you for the kind words. I love that you enjoyed it and felt invested enough to finish it :)
Woaah that was super cool! Had a lot of fun (and a tiny bit of frustration :'D) moving around this map, and the fights are pretty great! I'll be honnest, the story wasn't too deep :p But it's okay, it gave the game just the atmosphere it needed to stand out. I didn't have any bug, and also appreciated that you kept the game short instead of dragging it longer than needed, it made a nice experience from start to finish :) (Btw what's the point of that long hallway on the top left?! :o)
I planned to have dialog scenes with options to gain/use gold and experience, but I didn't have enough time. I plan to add it after jam ends. Hopefully that will add story depth :)
I know nothing about such hallway ;)
Thanks for playing!
Hey that's a pretty unique golf game man.
Like the mix of genres between combat and golf. Haven't seen it before.
Also like the transition for combat.
Now for feedback:
You could like add some details like screen shake when you hit an enemy. Would make the kills more satisfying imo.
Also checkpoints are always appreciated.
Good stuff ^^
Thanks man!
Yea... screen shake would be cool there, and it would take like 1 min to implement, but for some reason I didn't think of it...
Wow that's actually one of the best games I've played on this jam.
It was hard to understand what to do at first, like where do I have to go?, but when I got it it was really engaging to play and it has a very good atmosphere and original idea
Thanks.
I was struggling with tutorial. I wanted something minimalistic and I might have gone too far with that. Hopefuly gameplay is forgiving enough for player to figure it out themselves.
The main mechanic of the game was very unique. I was a bit skeptical at first but once I got into the game, it was actually fun to play.
I know the idea sounds weird, but I hope that it's part of the appeal that will bring people in :)
Glad you enojoyed it!
So good. Well done! I'd like to play it in real time - that would be a good challenge!
Thank you!
At first I was planning on doing it in real-time, more similar to Undertale battle system, but I was afraid that player would feel bad if enemies come at you and you can't do anything, because Golf is still moving.
Now I'm pondering the idea of minigames, each with different mechanic I could build around core mechanic.
Wow, this game is ridiculously good. I absolutely love the battle system. Essentially protecting your hearts by golfing away the enemies is such a simple, yet innovative mechanic - and boy, it is a lot of fun.
And on top of a great and well explored mechanic, you have a huge amount of polish.
This is great. Really, really great. Amazing work!
Thank you.
It was my intention to make everything look nice and "done" before I moved on to work on something else.
I used a lot of animations and interpolations as a quick and easy way to make everything look nice and feel less jarring.
I never would have imagined that an RPG with mini golf sim gameplay would work so well. I love the gameplay, the creativity and unique feel the game gave me. Would love to see more of this.
You can expect new features "sometime" soon, after the jam is over. I want to refactor and redesign combat, add dialog system and a few more skills.
Thanks for playing!
Really fun concept and once I got the hang of it really enjoyable, definitely a unique concept and it was pretty well polished too, most of the time I just smacked it as hard as possible but that seemed to work for most of the levels, really fun game well done :)
Get 'Brute' and 'Control' skills and smashing hard is a viable strategy :)
Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed it!
I kept getting put in the first room, but the concept is really cool!
Thanks!
Wow this is one of the most fully realized jam games I've played.
ton of fun sought out every fight would buy a fleshed out steam version
Thanks. I will be adding dialog system to the game post-jam, to make it feel more like RPG :)
I like this one a lot.
Good mechanics, good progression and a easy and interesting combat.
A bit repetitive at the end since enemies are the same but with faster movement.
With some innovative mechanics I can easily see this game turning into a real one.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
