Hoi great use of art kit^^
Liked how you keep growing as a character trough the game.
Holy feedback is that it's hard to see what's on the other side of a door.
Like sometimes i went trough it and got insta-killed.
Maybe you can simply move the ennemy when he's right on a door while traversing.
Good game!
This is a fun concept, though I would implement the game design idea of having background elements darker than the player/ enemies/ pickups etc. It would help a lot with being able to read what is happening in game
The concept of an alien imitating humans to infiltrate and destroy a company is interesting, but there are some issues with the execution. The biggest one in my opinion is you can't really see where you're going; as mentioned in many other comments going through doors is blind and the camera trails behind rather than looking ahead. I think this could be improved by changing the perspective; the game is 2D but has a virtual third axis going through the doors, while the ability to view other floors seems to have minimal utility. A top-down perspective would let you view both relevant axes instead.
There's also a balancing issue in terms of where the difficulty is located. For me, the only two points of difficulty were walking through doors and immediately dying, and not knowing whether I had subverted all the employees, neither of which were engaging to me. The system of "Make sure you don't overuse one of the strategies!" seemed interesting, but the strategies had no differences other than which key you press. If the options cost resources you needed to manage, or gave different rewards you needed to prioritize, then the choice could be meaningful.
I liked your idea, very creative. I died a lot when I went through doors though, and would of liked to hear some sound effects.
Game idea ok. Visuals look interesting. I am missing sound and music. Camera guidance is a bit uncomfortable. But overall a solid game. :)
thanks a lot for the feedback!
The concept and gameplay loop is cool. I accidentally skipped the dialogue at the beginning and still was able to figure out what to really quickly so the design is solid. The camera follow feels a little weird and when i went through a door i often got killed by enemies instantly. Good job none the less.
Thanks a lot for the feedback - the camera indeed needs some work. I'll put that on inexperience and cutting it too short to do sufficient playtest.
You should rethink your camera strategy. The way it is currently implemented you don't see far enough in front of you avoid enemies. Move the camera to the side the player moves to.
It was difficult to notice when I was ready to convert the people. The different pieces are just to samey. The same goes for exit doors. They are very difficult to notice.
The thing that made me nope out was my third attempt talking to the CEO. I don't want to scour the map for stragglers. The movement is slow and the environment bland.
Thanks for the feedback!
It is a good game with great concept but there are some bugs which need to fix plus when the player dies the camera moving back takes too long but overall I enjoyed playing!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I see where you wanted to go. The concept is interesting but it lacks detail in the execution. Going through a door and instantly dying plus having to wait for the camera to scroll back to the beginning is not good.
If you add some music, sounds, some variation in color and fix some bugs, you'll have a really nice game.
Thanks for trying the game and the comment. We clearly tried to do more than we could. Also we thought that the camera going back we a nice thing, but I can see how it does not work. Great to have those comments to improve.
Interesting idea :-)
Thanks
The game concept is cool, but it really misses out on some visual and sound feedback.
Thanks! Fair comment: time and inexperience were against us on this.
Oh... well that's totally unfortunate. :(
