Rhythm game was fun, but the mapping was a little meh - things stayed mostly in quarter-note timing at maximum, and the controls didnt seem to work correctly (maybe an optimization thing? the background stopped at random as well) which is vital in a rhythm game. Its super close to working though, looking forward to a patch.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback ! I agree about the mapping and plan on a version 2 with different timings and mappings as well features like hold notes.

Until then, I've just made a post jam patch so at least you can now play it without sudden stops and other stupid bugs :)

i like rythm games, the background made me dizzy af tho. i dont understand why i slowed down so much to get full speed right after again ... the background music is nice tho. and it seemed like i cant press 2 times the same arrow right after the first one, but the fast moving ones did overlaped alot of the times with the normal one in one direction.

Developer

Hey thanks for your feedback and I'm sorry I got you dizzy. I'll def be fixing these bugs after the rating finished :)

Seeing the farther arrow move faster had me scrambling!

This game is so much fun. Awesome job!!

The arrows going at different speeds is evil! But honestly, rhythm games are always captivating for me, so I had fun!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback

I'm usually terrible at this style of game but for some reason I didn't struggle mapping the keys to the different lanes, the colors and arrows probably made my brain happy haha.

Succeeded on my first try with a score of 52400 something  !

Apart from what some other people mentioned with the double keys being a tad unfair, the timing for the presses is generous enough in my opinion, and the different speeds are nice way to change up that monotony this kind of gameplay can bring.

I have no idea what was going on during this escape from the apocalypse as, yeah, watching the left part of the screen is simply not doable when you have keys pouring down to press. It looked wild though, that guy sure can cycle at hypersonic speed ! Taking a blind guess here but it might be a case of not using the DeltaTime to make some movement rate independent from the framerate ?

The music was fun too, overall a fun little experience !

Thanks for your great feedback and well done on the score. I think you're somewhere close re delta time, I tried various ways but never got it really working well. I am going to keep working on this project and plan to rewrite the way the bike moves. Even though I kinda like the hyper-speed, I want to be a controllable one :)

I liked the game, but sometimes the arrows appeared duplicated in the same arrow type (for example, 2 left arrows, for the same frame) and it made me lose a streak. I wish the arrow tracker was also in the middle, all the anims in the left became kind of distracting as I wanted to see what was happening, but I couldn't if I wanted to keep playing. So all that that happened on the left was lost on me because I wanted to play. Also, when the background got to be very fast sometimes I failed an arrow, it stopped, and suddenly became really fast again. It hurt my eyes a little bit.

Still, great concept! Would love to see it polished into a game outside of the jam!

Thanks, your feedback has been really helpful. After some sleep, I feel that this game deserves more than 3 days and I will be working on it as my next project. More updates are likely :)

Man I love rhythm games! My only criticism is I wish the arrow tracker was in the middle of the screen instead of off to the side. I think I won? I got to like 19k something points then it popped up saying "You did it!" so gg me? Sometimes the same 2 directions overlapped at once and I wasn't really sure what to do as it failed even if I double-tapped/held the button. Either way lots of fun.

Thanks for the feedback. You definitely finished it too so congrats!

Really solid and fun rythm game and also great work with making the soundtrack. It is a proper bop !

Developer

Thanks, I am happy you enjoyed it !

The soundtrack is amazing! Great game :) I made it to 16000k points before I messed up

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback!

I really enjoyed the music and the gameplay.

Sometimes two arrows overlap, but only one gets “consumed” correctly. This feels kinda weird. Additionally, the fast moving background made me feel a bit sick/it was very distracting from the arrows!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  Yeah 3 days was hard and this is our first attempt

I think I maybe ran into a bug, the arrows just stop coming at some point (tried two runs, same thing)

Other than that, the timing on the stepmania gameplay felt right and well synced with the selfmade soundtrack, impressed you made an accurate beatmap in a custom game!

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback. There are many bugs unfortunately :(
