How does your game fit the theme?
I was thinking about making a rage game before the theme announcement, and the bicycle theme was a perfect excuse to make it like this! A dinky scrabble board resting on the handlebar while passing cars mess up your words :)

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 4 days?

Super unique concept. Didn't feel rage gamey since it wasnt too tough to control like those games often are, but it still captured the feeling of satisfaction when i made a long word. The word detector was a little janky, i managed to make some cool words that it detected as scrambled versions. Very fun though, i had a great time!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

There's a bunch of stuff I eyeballed for the word detection (like distance between tiles) which def causes some weird behaviour but I'm happy you still managed to spell some words out :)

Loved this game. Extremely creative and polished game, and for a rage game (which I usually dislike), I actually had a lot of fun with it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

The concept is very original and a very good idea.

Sadly I had a very hard time making words (could just be skill issue honestly), so I mostly ended up writing words that made no sense at all.

But once again very cool and unique idea !

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot!

I can't broooo. But well programmed, and while rage inducing I'd still say a good game. Would have liked to seem custom assets, but that just means you are capped in audio and visuals. Great use of theme, and original too. Only bug was sometimes it was essentially impossible to grab something off the board, and my pieces would go flying out of the thing when pieces dropped in. Nothing else to say, great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Going in solo always makes it a challenge to pick what to focus on, I heavily relied on asset packs so I'd have more time to spend on the technical parts (the tile matching was surprisingly tricky). But I agree that once it was done, it comes across as a bit "asset-flippy". Lessons were learned :)

Such a good idea and creative use of the theme. Really refreshing take on the rage game - lots of those feel pretty similar and this one stands out. I had a great time with it!

(I did notice I could spell any word without it actually checking and the game would accept it)
(Game jams are hard you totally get a pass for this)

Developer

Thank you for the kind review :)

Being able to spell any word was intentional! It's hard enough to keep anything on the board haha

Though there are a few words it does check for as secrets!

Right when I am about to spell a word, a hamburger or sushi drops down and messes everything up! Playing scrabble while biking is a very funny and unique idea lol

What a fun and frustrating game! I'm not really into rage games to be honest but this was fun for a little bit manically struggling-to spell something while cars flew by and threw stuff at you was fun. Tried my hardest to spell sex but couldn't get the X... rip me.

Developer

I just realized the way the letter spawning works makes it very unlikely for an X to spawn so that was going to be a tough task haha

90% of the letters that drop are of one specific "secret" word at a time, to increase the odds of you seeing and getting it :)

Submitted(+1)

Ahhh that explains it. I think I immediately saw S and E and then my monkebrain immediately had to try and find the X. Again really fun experience :)

Haha really fun concept. Scrabble on a bike is helarious. My words would always be send backwards though. Not sure if intended XD Good job !

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I missed sorting the tiles by physical position at some point and half the time they end up reversed ^^' But all that matters is getting one as long as possible!

I really liked the idea, but sometimes the letters wouldn't make the words I wanted to write. Still, it's a great concept!! I liked the missions and chat interactions too!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I spent an embarrasing amount of time figuring out how to match up the tiles and get the longest word... could not find a very intuitive way of presenting words in the "right" order. But for the secret words it checks both ways so writing it in reverse still counts!

really neat concept! i really liked the addition of the chat phone lol. overall really fun to play! 5/5 on originality for sure.

Really cool idea! Playing scrabble while cycling, why hasnt someone thought of that before :DD

Amazing interactions with the chat messages.

The Cars destroyed so many of my word inventions :P

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the kind review :) Sounds like the cars did their job :)
