Lovely game! I included it in my Movie Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out! :)

That was a lot of fun. I thought the switches were bombs at first because of the animation and sound when you flip them. Took me a little while to realize I was just continuously flipping a switch. Great job on this game!

Developer

Thanks :D

Good game. I had no idea what was going on but I had fun.

I finished it and I feel the ending was a little disappointing. After the second boss there is a lot of walking and backtracking with nothing to really do at the end.

Made my Top 5:

Not sure if I hit the end of the game or just didn't see where to go. I beat the double slime boss and got to a room with a...bomb? Hitting it didn't seem to do anything. And I agree with the other comment about the horizontal line being kinda annoying.

Other than that, this was a blast to play!

Developer

Thanks for playing! You almost did it, you turned of the door in the start of the maze.

Great little game - well done Egor!
Good graphics and lots going on here - brill work for the Jam period.
Lovely music... ah, just seen it was Gruber (PS. You've misspelled his name on the game page!)

Unfortunately, I couldn't complete it due to (what I think is) a bug.
I went left, several times through the "repeating" bit, then went around the lake, got the key.
Then I died, but still had the key. Accidentally went up (back to where the door locks until you kill the bats), but then it used my key on THAT door! Now I don't have enough keys to progress.  :o/

Anyways, congrats and all the best! :D

Uh, that's such a bad bug :X Can't find a fix to it... Fixed the name, thanks 😀 Did the key go to that ENEMY LOCK door? Oh wow.

Edit: uploaded a fix, could you try one more time, please? 😉

Submitted(+1)

Ah, it's possible you fix a different door (that was also suffering the same issue).

The one I was referring to is THIS one:

Perhaps you should make it so "ENEMY LOCK" doors do not accept Keys?

Developer(+1)

Ah, finally fixed the bug, thanks a bunch :)

Okay that bar going down the screen is annoying. and the contrast starts hurting my eyes very quickly. The Music was okay, but occasionally there is a squelch factor that hurts my ears. Other than that I think the gameplay is okay, although it looks like you can get locked out if you do the order wrong.

This is great. Good variety of enemies, some adventuring through the maze like map, and music I could actually listen to all day. Only issue I found was when I died after opening a door with a key and then I respawned with the key and the door still open. Great job though!

Ok! This is a fun game! The best I've played so far with respect to design. Here's a short likes and don't likes list:

What I didn't like: I'm not a big fan of 1 or 2 bit pixel aesthetics. Having said that, you've managed to pull of a very consistent environment for the game. It reminds me of my old ZX Spectrum games so... points for nostalgia. The steering mechanism for some of the enemies often made them stuck in corners. But I guess proper path finding might be too complex for such a short development time. Also, would have taken time from the rest of the design. The multiple save buttons in a single room looked a bit redundant.

What I liked: Pretty much everything else! The level is very well designed. Almost everything that you placed in the level is there for a reason and possible to interact with. This made it a very consistent experience. The special room that one can only access by persistently moving left is brilliant. It was very satisfying to reach it after 3 or 4 cycles (sorry if I can't remember). The small details like having the key follow you smoothly; the small ghosts spawning from the boss ghosts; the contrast between the crawling enemies moving continuously and the ghosts moving in cycles show that you have taken great care and attention to the details.

Overall, an excellent entry to the Jam.

I love the music. the timer was a little rough for me, I will come back and play it again when I have more time. Here is a video of my initial reactions

Haha, thanks for playing!

Great game. I especially like the music, sort of haunting and mysterious. But the gameplay is great as well, with a very well tied together map.

I love this types of games! I really like the graphics although it makes me hard to distinguish things. I got the gun but I never realized that until I press X by accident :P
