That was a nice little demo!  Would have really liked to see more gameplay like adding things to the scrapbook. Wish you guys the best in your continued development.

  • Thinks I liked:
    • The pixel art looks fantastic!
    • The moving and hopping animations are nice.
    • I like that the speed of the dialogue varies like when the character pauses with "..."
    • Its nice that you are able to quickly click through the dialogue if you don't want to wait for it to be written out.
  • Things that could be improved:
    •  I would have liked to play the game full screen or have the option of resizing the game window. I feel that the game window is a little on the small side.
    • Would be nice to include a "click / press a key to continue" message on the first dialogue screen so the user isn't left wondering what to do.
    • The scrapbook icon appears at the very start of the game. It looks like you can click on it but clicking it does nothing. Maybe add the book to the UI when the user is actually able to click it.
    • Instead of the prompt memory game begin, maybe you should say "memorize the path of the butterfly" to re affirm the task.
    • The lower right and upper left of the map have a bridges that you cannot cross. Instead of having an invisible wall maybe add some barrier sprites so that the player is not mislead / frustrated.
  • Additional notes:
    • The game page looks great!

Thank you so much for playing! And yes, a lot of things didn’t make it in the game due to the time constraint, i.e: scrapbook icon, bridges. Those might be the first things we’ll work on when the jam’s over. Thanks a lot for the feedback! Many things will definitely be improved.

Thank you for the great feedback! Actually blocking the unavailable paths was something I didn't even remember to think about so thanks for pointing that and all the other things out! We'll definitely do some updating and try to finish the story as well.

Lovely lil playthrough. I liked the prompt for a grater game and the art is just super nice, characters and environment.  Nice writing with old frog dialogue, and a chill mini game !
Fav part: The colors in the art! The old frogs cavern.
Bug: For some reason After I talked to the old frog, I went to leave but the memory game started over. But because I had started to leave, the camera crop didn't allow for me to select the top mushroom., so i was stuck in endless butterfly memory game.

Swell lil frog game, cheers!

Thank you for playing! Great to hear that you liked the arts! We’ll definitely fix the bug in a future update. (Discovered it at the end of the jam, so we didn’t have the change to fix it before submitting haha)

Totally get it!

Glad to know that you love Hichki’s flowers, cuz when one of the teammates show a picture of it, I immediately fall in love with that lol. Thank you for playing and the feedback! We’ll fix the bug in the post-jam update!

Interesting concept! I liked the idea of "exploring all the world's flavors" and really wanted to go do that. The art style is cute and the simple controls make it very pick-up-and-play. Nice job!
