Solid idea and I think it's framed well!

Unfortunately the enemies often come in unavoidable triplets across the screen before you have a chance to get any fish... maybe if we started with some fish off the bat it could have mitigated that some?

The fish were also sort of unintuitive as a whole, I didn't understand when I got them at first, since the logic of ramp -> fish is kinda random. I think maybe it would have been better to just have fish pickups, as boring as that would be.

It was doubly confusing because the animation on the ramp sort of reads like you're spinning out of control, so it seems like a bad thing... ESPECIALLY so because the bar goes from what looks like full to empty, so you think you've just taken damage or something. I'm assuming that was your fish stock, so maybe it would have made sense to have fish icons there as well rather than a continuous bar?

Also I think the moving particles effect was pretty cool. I don't know if it's supposed to be the ground, but if it is it's moving twice as fast as the enemies that are also on the ground 😅

I think all the art was nice! The penguin skis worked especially well for me, its cute lol.
I know this was a lot of nitpicky feedback but I DID enjoy the game a lot, once you get going with a nice stock of fish I think the game is really fun!

Wow thanks for all the feedback! I now realize that some of the decisions like ramp -> fish are kinda unintuitive. the flipping animation meant to be flipping in the air but its kinda unclear. also using fish icons seems like a much better idea to be honest. And also starting with some fish would completely remove the issue of unavoidable death. Thanks a lot!

Fun game! Sprites are really cute, and the premise is funny. It feels nice to enter a loop of picking up bombs and throwing them to rack up points. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

nice game, can see it on a nokia phone. the graphics are good, maybe playing a sound when you throw the fish would have been cool.

good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The reason i didn't add sounds for throwing, flipping, etc. was bc the rules said there can only be one sound channel so i would have to pause the music, which i didn't have time to implement.

Cool game!  I didn't know about the ramps or throwing the fish after jumping after the first few plays so maybe a quick tutorial will help.  I think there's also a bug when a ramp jump happens and the player tries to hit another jump immediately afterwards.  I like the jingle and graphics.  GJ!

Developer

Thanks for playing! yeah the cooldown that disables collisions after hitting a ramp is a bit too long making it difficult to hit jumps shortly after hitting the first ramp.

Impressive game
idk how but i somehow got 3 objects in a row and unavoidable xD

Fun to play game

Developer

Thanks for playing! thats a problem I wasn't able to completely fix before the deadline. If you use a ramp you will be able to throw a fish at one of the three so you won't die but if it happens at the start of the game it is unfortunately unavoidable.

I really loved the music in this game! My high score definitely isn't very good, but I had fun and that's all that matters :)
